"GREEN EYES"
by Kophns
In 2014, dismayed by the state of the neighborhood around Gabba Gallery in Los Angeles, gallery owner Jason Ostro decided to make a difference and turn "blight into bright." Beginning with a gorgeous mural he painted with Andrea LaHue (posted Feb. 15, 2016) in a nearby alley, his vision quickly spread to three separate alley projects in the immediate area. In the spring of 2015 LA artist and movie industry designer/art director Kophns applied his talents with a group of notable artists 'brightening' the parking lot behind the 7-Eleven at Beverly Blvd. and Vendome St. With a bold, colorful and graphically distinctive style, Space of Art says Kophns grew up exposed to a wide variety of street art and began himself using markers to draw characters on neighborhood walls. Kophns has now completed multiple works for the Gabba Arts District, and Ostro's vision has blossomed to include several other projects in neighborhoods all around LA. @kophns @gabbagallery
