Hc + love

platonic love and marc? the two mesh incredibly well! she loves all of her friends dearly, from Lyndis to Athos. however, it’s romantic love and marc don’t mesh too well and she often ignores the emotion when it does arise. 

marc considers it her job to only help these people return home to their families or continue their own journey. as she puts it she is ‘ a background character ’ in their story, especially in her role with the events of blazing blade. she feels that if she were to get romantically involved with someone, that would be selfish of her and her allies because of how she knows she would drag them everywhere that she goes. there is little to no stability in her life because she is thrusting herself out there to eventually better her talents.

though this isn’t to say that marc has never had feelings for someone that were slightly more than platonic, though she just won’t recognize them as her own and won’t act on them in the slightest. she has felt some admiration for lyndis and is fond of her. it’s a reason why she makes the promise of returning to the plains after her journey. in all her travels marc has only made such a promise to lyndis because the girl means so much to her. 

if marc does fall in love, you can see her being more loose lipped about her situation and her personal wants and needs. though she treats the object of her affections in a platonic manner. she doesn’t want them to know that she feels this way about them and is very private about it. she simply just loses the hyperactive facade she wore and is more melancholy. 

in other verses, it’s difficult for me to see marc with anyone, and her bloodline is nothing special, so in many cases, she simply adopts a child to carry on her will and move forward. she wants them to surpass her in everything that she did. she also finds this to give her a companion without tying her down and leave people behind.
