a) zoya nazyalensky would take ANYONE’S name
b) tamar/nadia and genya/david haven’t already clearly established that it’s not a cultural norm to change your last name after marriage (even zoya’s MOTHER doesn’t share a last name with zoya!)

Thoughts on the king of scars sequel
I'm quite excited tbh!! I'm rereading King of scars at the moment and while I'm not a huge fan of the plot I love nikolai and zoya and everyone in ravka's interactions! I am disappointed that leoni is apparently not in it much since she and adrik were the only interesting part of nina's chapters for me, also I wish the darkling hadn't come back. If leigh really needed a big bad (which I didn't think she did really) she should have invented a new one. I dislike the starless Saint plotline anyway but bringing him back is a step too far. I am genuinely excited tho! I want to see where the story goes from here!
