As eager as the sword would be to attend said ball, the circumstances didnât call for it. Much had happened, much that took the younger Kanesada all his motivation & excitement to attend; and so, the Shinsengumi Headquarters was where he was bound to spend the New Yearâs Eve at, while many others were only a sector behind, enjoying their time with food, music and well, a good time. Izuminokami had only the starry night above him, the cold weather that made his breath quite visible ( though he was wearing the scarf it was gifted to him by his brother ), and the hot tea that made it all slightly more enjoyable.
He wasnât alone, however, not as he had hoped to be. While the other members were dispatched to do whatever they wanted for the day ( it was New Yearâs Eve, after all ), and he knew Horikawa had found himself a date -- which still had caught the uchi off guard, though he was quite proud regardless --, there was one of their members that seemed to have had the same idea as their vice-commander.
â Yamato? I thought you would be at the ball. â The manâs gaze avert from the sky to stare at the other who shared the blue & white haori with him. Although he hadnât heard of Yasusada getting himself a date, he had expected at least Kashuu would force him to go.
