I usually doesn’t do posts about current things happening in the series I read, I’m content by watching/reading other people’s reactions, but since there doesn’t seem to be any real activity so far regarding Samurai 8 on tumblr I guess I’ll have to do this myself.

Samurai 8 Chapter 22

So this chapter expands on saw Ann’s background witch is INCREDIBLY sad. Just imagine you watch your only family commit suicide, in order to become a samurai just to protect you. But instead of becoming a samurai he “dies”. I am putting that in quotation marks because I just have a strong feeling his man is not dead. Maybe the transformation was delayed, but he can’t be dead! It’s preparation for a later plot twist!

It was revealed there can be brother/sister duos for princess and samurai. I feel that on their planet it is set up more as an arranged marriage. This is just based on what Princess Wu said about the head princess choosing which princess and samurai should be paired. In Chapter 7, I think it was Ann’s friend stated to a princess, her samurai of fate is basically her boyfriend. This does add an interesting element to Ann and Hachimaru’s relationship. At this point this is their family they really don’t have anyone else. I have a bunch of conspiracies about Ann and her brother’s relationship and the brother himself. Maybe they could have gotten together in the future, because they weren’t related by blood.

Another idea that came to me when reading this chapter is, who are their mothers and will this be important in the future? Hachimaru and his brothers were still human before they became samurai. So someone had to give birth to them ( or at least contribute egg and sperm). And is there a connection with Hachimaru and Ann’s brother because he looks too much like the other brothers for it to be a coincidence. I also wonder if each of the brothers have their own distinct personalities that we would see.

Some highlights

Like this is weird!!!!

My first thought when I saw this was, “When did Ann turn into Eleven!?!?” ( Stanger Things reference). So I WAS gonna call BS if Hachimaru won, however the way she was praying....... There was no way he would have lost . Like she is praying with all her might to boost his strength. And we know the reason why she cares for him so much now. Like I really can’t complain about this chapter. I loved it!

So I am content we got some background on Ann, which I asked for ☺️. Now, I’m guessing she was later taken in by Princess Wu become a Princess. I wonder if they are born being able to sense locker balls or if they have a similar ritual like the samurai. I guess the fact that I have so many question, you know that I will DENINATLY continue reading.
