a Touhou Project fan animation

Based on original animation made by Goombo.

Directed and produced by Gentoku Koubu.

Project started May 7th 2025, concluded June 9th 2026. Total working time: 13 hours and 36 minutes. Animated at 18fps for a total length of 362 frames. Original plans simply consisted of a 12-frame animation.

What originally started out as a simple practice exercise for Miniatures No. 2 evolved past its bounds. Coupled with the fact that we never had a true workflow to begin with, work soon stagnated. The Koubenian animation craze started out of hatred for an insult (and a threat) to animation, yet it suffered and stagnated from its own unaddressed flaws. Ultimately, deadlines were pushed back, month after month, until we decided that something needs to end.

Thus the Koubenians rose up again, but this time, without any grand ambitions. We simply showed up, so that the past could rest. We simply showed up, so that our debts may be paid in full. Two restless nights later, and finally, the curse has been lifted. Let us rejoice.
