Yuuta has a weakness for ridiculously cute things, but he’s far too self-conscious to ever buy them for himself.

Toge notices. He notices the way Yuuta’s gaze lingers on pastel keychains, the way his fingers almost reach for a plush before retreating.

So Toge starts buying them quietly, slipping them into Yuuta’s life piece by piece. A charm on his bag. A mug on the counter. A blanket draped over their couch.

And no one thinks twice about it—because it’s Toge. Of course he likes cute things. Only Yuuta knows the truth: every little gift is Toge’s way of saying I see you, and I love even the parts you’re afraid to show.

Pirate Captain Okkotsu never meant to play hero. But when he sees the boy behind the bar—the one who moves like he’s trying not to exist—something in Yuuta twists. Call it instinct, pity, or something far more dangerous, but he knows one thing for certain: he's not leaving him behind.

When Yuuta finally speaks, his voice is calm, almost too soft to be dangerous. “Funny thing about treasure,” he says, eyes never leaving Toge’s. “Most people don’t recognize it when it’s standing right in front of them.”

Dialogue is absolutely my arch nemesis. I could write things and scenery and situations until the end of time, but dialogue has to go through what feels like multiple drafts and stages and ✨ peer reviewed consults ✨

This one, however…. I’m very fond of this one 🥰

Toge gets caught in the rain and winds up at Yuuta’s place ♥︎

—and then feels the soft weight of a towel drop over his head.

Toge makes a soft, startled noise, head tilting slightly into the touch. The warmth blooming in his chest has nothing to do with the tea anymore.

Yuuta’s hands follow a second later, gently tousling and drying his hair, fingers combing through the damp strands with ease.

“We don’t want you getting sick,” Yuuta murmurs, voice low and fond as he works.

The fingers scratching at his scalp feel divine. “Tsuna mayo,” Toge mumbles, the words muffled more by the towel.

Yuuta laughs quietly behind him. “Just because you’re a linguistics major doesn’t mean you can just create your own language, y’know.”

“Okaka, Yuuta,” Toge replies with exaggerated sincerity, lips quirking upward as he lifts the cup again.

“Just because I can understand your language doesn’t make it any more legitimate,” Yuuta teases, but his voice is thick with affection—and Toge can hear the smile, plain as day.

What if Toge did ASMR? 🎙️ No-Curses au

Yuuta never asked for it, but the doomscrolling algorithm always had a way of knowing his weak spots before he did.

Toge’s no-mouth-sounds ASMR slides onto his feed like it belongs there—pages turning, soft brushes across the mic, tapping against cork. It’s calm, precise, oddly intimate.

Yuuta ends the night with a new subscription. Curiosity got him started, but it’s the rhythm—the slow, deliberate sounds—that finally tips him into sleep, something nothing else has managed to do in months.

Weeks pass. Then comes a room tour. The camera pans casually across Toge’s walls—string lights, stacked books, a few photo strips—and then Yuuta sees it. Half-obscured by a photo strip, but undeniable: the menu of the new bakery downtown, taped neatly in place like it matters.

Coincidence? Or maybe—just maybe—a breadcrumb trail leading straight to a meet-cute Yuuta’s already too invested in.

Time for an “accidental” meet-cute? 🤭
