QL Fic Rec Fest: a fic that made you laugh

ok i know i've recced this before but it's been a WHILE and also, when I saw the prompt was "a fic that made you laugh" what IMMEDIATELY came to mind was Porsche frustrated and yelling "I fucking WISH it was cocaine!" I don't know why that specifically stuck in my mind but it has. This whole fic is hilarious. The whole series is great. I hope Chay works on his situational awareness.

QL Fic Rec Fest Week 5 - Could Be Canon

So this week is prompt is "a fic that could be canon" and I am purposefully choosing a fic set riiiiiight at the end of show, in the Post-Coup Hospital-Era. Sure, there are other fics that I could rec for this, but I'm specifically choosing this one because it - like the show - has a really open-ended vibe where we're not sure what's going to happen next, and there's something Lurking for our heroes behind the next hallway.

i am a sucker for complicated Theerapanyakul family dynamics, especially of the Kinn and Vegas variety. I love them sniping at each other and Vegas, despite everything, giving Kinn advice he needs to hear and hitting him with the Clue By Four in a very Vegas way. I love Kinn realizing things about Korn, i love that everyone is trying their own messed up best and trying to cling to their happiness. I mourn the season 2 we'll never get.

Summary:

To say that Big wakes up would be a strong overstatement of what happens.  He’s mostly dead, and then he’s slightly less dead and can open his eyes sometimes, and then he’s only half-dead. The few weeks he’s half-dead would probably be the worst, if Big had any recollection of them after he gets out of the hospital.  He knows that he asks over and over where Ken is, and every time the staff tell him, and every time a little piece of him dies. And then he goes back to sleep, and like a goldfish he forgets and they do it all again.  It happens so many times it sticks with him even though practically nothing else from half-dead does. And then suddenly, he’s not half-dead.  He’s mostly alive.  His brain gets its shit together and he can operate his arms and legs, and speak, if a little slurringly.  He regains episodic memory and is profoundly embarrassed that he’s been told upwards of thirty times that Ken is dead.  In all that, he never asked after Khun Kinn. Or: Big lives. This changes less than one might think.
