Hmmm starting off the next installment of the KPCU (Daredevil season 3) strong with Matty hiding AND whining in the basement of his family church while his friends mourn-slash-refuse-to-let-him-go. Complete with paying his damn bills for his apartment.

It’s wild, Matty. It’s almost like even if you’ve decided to be a martyr, your decisions and your life still has an impact on your friends.

I've decided to attempt to update this fic monthly, around the 1st of the month, so ta-da!! More Karen, Frank, Billy nonsense :3

Rating: T Fandom: The Punisher (TV), Daredevil (TV) Pairing/Characters: Frank Castle/Karen Page, Billy Russo Critical Tags: Fix-It, Ambiguous Relationships, Bodyguard AU Chapter Summary: Contracting Billy Russo's services involves, what else, careful negotiation and more than a little give and take. Excerpt:

Karen put her bag down next to Frank’s, teeth worrying at the skin beside her nails once she didn’t have something in hand. “Why are we here, Frank?” she asked softly as Bill worked the three locks shut once more with one hand.

“It’s a fair question, Frankie,” Bill agreed. He tried to lift an eyebrow; both moved. Frank still wasn’t used to the deep furrows raking across the other man’s face. Scars that might lighten a touch more if he made it a couple more years but would never be unnoticeable. Scars that Frank had put on him with his own two hands.

He had known where to find Bill after he’d elected to leave the hospital on a forged version of Curtis’ signature. Had considered tracking him down and sending Agent Madani the address as some kind of thank you or apology for having put Rawlins down before they got Kandahar wrapped up in a neat bow. But that would have made it rather irrelevant that Frank hadn’t put Bill down, too, if he was just going to rot in a cell for the rest of his days.

Bill deserved to rot, or something like it at least. But then again he was still Billy, and hadn’t Frank already seen enough of his unit dead and buried?

He hadn’t answered the question. Two sets of eyes watched Frank swim his way back to the present. It was easier to address Karen with his response. “You need protection.”

“I have-- I’m with you. That’s all the protection I need,” Karen retorted. Her change of words was obvious.

Frank held up two fingers. He wasn’t done answering yet. “Second, I need a game plan. A quick one. Can’t do that if I’ve got you with me,” he said.

“Which means you need a place to stash Miss Page,” Bill finished. He finally let the pistol come down, shaking his head all the while.

If we have finally united MCU with NMCU Hell's Kitchen via Hawkeye, does this mean Bishop Security runs in the same city as Anvil? Do they fight over clients? Is there an in-universe conspiracy theory that Billy Russo was killed by mama Bishop's orders to clear the way for her company taking their market share and winning those CIA contracts?

Yessss the original Netflix MCU (aka Karen Page Cinematic Universe) makes me go feral over how THOUGHTFUL and INTENTIONAL a lot of it is. Granted, that varies from show to show and season to season but good lord they at least tried.
