Vanki Wind power projects COD appears in both NTPC and KP Energy filings
Wind power projects at Vanki in Gujarat reached a key commercial milestone on 8 July, with NTPC and KP Energy both disclosing the same 50.4 MW commissioning event. NTPC Green Energy declared commercial operation of the first part capacity of the Vanki Wind Energy Project from midnight.
The project is located at Nakhatrana in Kutch, Gujarat, and belongs to NTPC Renewable Energy. NTPC’s filing said the group’s installed capacity now stands at 90,954 MW, with commercial capacity at 89,874 MW. Hours later, KP Energy said it had successfully developed and commissioned the same first 50.4 MW.
The KP Energy filing identified the capacity as sixteen Suzlon wind turbine generators of 3.15 MW each. EnergylineIndia.com records this as important for Indian Power news because the same asset can appear in the disclosures of both the owner and the developer. Wind power projects therefore require careful capacity attribution. This is also relevant to Renewable energy tenders because EPC-side commissioning strengthens developer credentials. Wind power projects support NTPC’s renewable expansion. Wind power projects support KP Energy’s execution record. Wind power projects remaining schedule has not been disclosed.
