What comebacks/debuts have you all been enjoying this year so far? Let’s talk about it.
For me I’ve really enjoyed (G)i-dle and Xikers this year, I’ve also really enjoyed KARD and Dreamcatcher’s recent releases. Aside from Kpop I’ve been listening to alot of Bad Omens and Pierce the Veil going back to my emo roots.
Everyone say thank you to Lay for honouring us with the album of the year and six solid bops to power us through the rest of quarantine

artms (loona) - icarus
released 6.13.25
refreshing kpop groups that have debuted recently (‘24/‘25) 💌
ARTMS
staring off with artms! they’re a five member girl group existing of loona members. their music carries the loona essence while expanding on it and branching out towards new and elegant sounds.
the cinematography of their most recent release “icarus” is extravagant and builds on top of the previous loonaverse lore. their discography dives deeper into the concept of art and there are elements of a plethora of genres found within their music. truly like nothing you’ve ever seen in kpop before, not even loona.
ZEROBASEONE
who am i if i don’t mention my glorious kings zb1?? i’ve seen many people speak their distaste on zb1’s sound and i beg to differ. their songs melting point and take my hand provide a sound of comfort and nostalgia that is heavily infused into both the melody, vocals and instrumental. songs like insomnia and devil game remind you of the prime time of kpop that is 2018. upbeat and just fun. and their title tricks are NOT lacking either, yes, i mean crush too. a plus to zb1 is their exceptional and outstanding ability to sing so well live while participating in difficult and tiring choreography; something we unfortunately don’t see as much in kpop anymore but not zb1!
XLOV
now onto my genderless beauties: XLOV!!!! i truly believe they’re what kpop was missing. fusing afrobeats along with that boy group excellency sound makes their four songs unmatched. their debut song “imma be” carries a rather sensual and sauntering vibe. the music video dabbles into light drag and cunty choreo. all members are active within the production process as they’re self made and self produced! wumuti also acts as their stylist and makeup artist! they also help in the making of their choreos. stan talent, stan XLOV.
TRIPLES
while it may seem intimidating due to the quantity of members, i would dive deeper into tripleS’ discography. if you enjoy loona, then you will enjoy tripleS. under the same company as ARTMS, tripleS sound has a fun and almost 2021 weekly vibe to it in certain aspects. driven by girl power, friendship and fun. the group has revolving units that the fans (wavs) vote on and come together to produce music under a unit name. my favorite unit is krystal eyes! a few recommendations would be inner dance, girl’s capitalism, rising, and touch, although those are all surface level songs. i’d dive deeper!
BOYNEXTDOOR
their sound is literally their name in my opinion. it is nothing like any other group’s sound. it is youthful and what kpop NEEDED. although their music has that “boynextdoor” sound to it, the group dabbles into slightly different sounds and genres while still sounding like themselves. they have a few japanese releases that are honestly OST level. the boys themselves are fun and energetic and their personalities reflect into their music. the six also help in the process of writing their releases as well!
TWS
if you like rhythm games or jpop, then TWS is the group for you! it didn’t come as a shocker to me that they were so popular in japan, but they need more recognition everywhere else as well! their sound consists of a more summer vibe while also being emotional. their winter album is a mix of fun and ballads that portray all the feelings and vibes of the winter season. their music is nostalgic in a way that it’s how summer is through the eyes of a high schooler if that makes sense LMFAOOO. like, how they spend so much of the end of their school year looking forward to summer, is the same feeling you feel when listening to TWS. girl, just listen to them.
RESCENE
between a mix of girl’s talk by chuu and loona yyxy (and expanding on that), that is honestly the best way i can describe rescene’s music. the girls’ songs represent hope and a longing for always being happy and bright. it is the music that would play when you’re lucid dreaming something happy. you genuinely cannot go wrong with a single song they’ve released and their newest track “deja vu” is stunning. it vaguely reminds me of NJZ’ ditto. but that’s not at all surprising when it’s a kpop song named deja vu. it’s sure to be a hit with a title like that. if you wish to visit a cloudy and dreamy oasis, then rescene is as close as you’re gonna get.
