Wish Upon a Star- 02 Chance Ball!
Your alarm blares, the loud bass of GRL GVNG causing you to flinch awake out of your slumber. Shutting it up, you start replying to the birthday messages and tweets from your close friends. You miss Jimin and Minjeong a lot, having met them one of the times you went to see Wendy at SM. You guys hit it off immediately, your personalities meshing well with each other. However with their promotion for Whiplash going on, they weren't able to come visit for your birthday this year. Grateful that at least you'll be able to spend it with Wendy and Irene. It's rare that you get to see them nowadays with how packed their schedules have been.
After jumping out of a quick, refreshing shower and drying your hair you start figuring out your outfit for the day. Deciding to go with a soft pink sweater, a pink plaid skirt, and light makeup. Your phone dings across the room. You check your reflection one last time and make your way over to your phone.
Excitement bubbles up inside of you, somehow even more giddy to see the girls again. You decide to eat a quick breakfast and scroll through your phone until they show up. A knock breaks your attention away from doom scrolling. Rushing over to the door and throwing it up you're greeted by bright smiles. Wendy and Irene wrap you into a crushing hug, pouring all their love into it. Irene fixes your hair like the mother she is and asks if you're all ready to go. You grab your purse and lock the door and you're on your way towards the American Dream Mall.
The ride is a lot of catching up, joking around, and blasting their Kpop playlist through the speakers. The first you things you notice is that the mall is the ferris wheel and that the mall itself is massive. Eventually Irene finds an open parking space in the otherwise full lot and you all jump out the car, running your way into the mall.
It completely shocks you just how all-encompassing the mall actually is. Everything you could ever imagine is all ready for you to explore. There's a waterpark, an ice skating rink, Korean food marts, a kpop store (which you spend way to much money in), and a tasty Korean hotdog shop. When you're fully loaded up on new albums, candy and new clothes you all load back up into the car and make your way over the bridge to NYC.
You arrive at the restaurant for the dinner reservation Irene and Wendy set up. An absolutely gorgeous and elegant place that would be extremely out of your price range if it wasn't for the two girls who love to spoil you whatever chance they get. The food is delicious and perfect in every sense of the word. Joy fills your brain. Happy to the point that your cheeks hurt from all the smiling and laughing you've done. Once all the your plates are damn near licked clean and glasses are dry, you all decide to walk around the Manhattan pier.
The scenery is gorgeous, the sun setting beautifully over the city skyline. Skyscrapers and bridges framing the dwindling daylight delicately. Wind blows through your hair and pierces through the warmth of your sweater. You lean up against the railing and watch the water. It's peaceful and quiet apart from the the bustling of the city goers. Wendy and Irene join you on your left and right respectively, enjoying each others presence and body heat as the fall night cold creeps ever slowly upon you. However, something catches your ear. A specific recent release that has been playing in your mind for the last week. The chorus to IYKYK plays loudly through someone's phone to the right of you. Your head whips in the direction of the music, excited to potentially meet another ALPHAZ in person. What you don't expect to see is the very familiar dancing egg and vibrant hair colors of the girls around her.
Your jaw is on the floor and you gasp in shock. Irene catches notice and looks to see what you're so fixated on. As a victim of your various rants about how obsessed with them, she recognizes them immediately as XG. She turns back to you with a similar level of surprise attached to her face and encourages you to go say hi. It takes everything in you (and Irene all but pushing you over to them) to take the first step in their direction.
With a quiet, shy voice you finally get out a soft, "hi..! i'm a huge fan of you guys." All the girls turn in your direction and smile brightly at you. Maya steps forward, taking the lead in the conversation for XG. You explain how much their music means to you, and how much you've loved IYKYK. You tell them you know every word by heart and that the dance is burned into your muscle memory, causing a mini dance practice with Jurin. Everyone giggling as you dance timidly with the main dancer.
"Thank you so much for supporting us!" she says when the dance practice ends, causing a blush to rise up your cheeks.
"Of course! I'm an ALPHAZ for life."
Wendy creeps up, causing the XG girls to recognize the pair behind you, "She even has a photocard in her phone case," she teases. You turn around and lightly smack her shoulder. Wendy chuckles at your antics and takes your phone to show the Hinata card you keep on you at all times. The girls ooh and aah at the revelation but the only sound you can process is Hinata's hearty laugh. You'd do anything to hear more of it. With all the attention on you, your head drops shyly. The XG girls take their time to fangirl about seeing and meeting Wenrene. However, one girl in particular can only focus on you. Can only focus on how red dusts your cheeks from the combination of the cold wind and teasing. Even though she's usually quite introverted with her being an ISFP, she takes a couple steps over to you until she's right in front of you, which makes you look up.
Uncharacteristically confident, she pulls out her phone and says, "If you like my photocard that much, how about we take a photo together?" Your eyes widen in shock and your cheeks could cause 3rd degree burns at the touch. You nod shyly in response, causing her to beam at you. She angles her phone up and wraps her arm around your shoulder, pulling you closer into her. Butterflies explode in your stomach. Your brain short circuits and you smile widely for the photo. You wish this moment could never end. Having such closeness with someone you've been so fond of since the beginning feels borderline heavenly.
After the moment is captured not only in photograph form, but forever embedded in your mind, she closes the camera app. Then, Hinata surprises you a second time, asking you for your number. You figured she was just going to AirDrop you the photo or something of the sort. Her beautiful laugh occupies your ears yet again and she pushes her phone into your hands, which is open to her contacts. You shyly add your name and number into the list and hand her back her phone, bowing in thanks as you do so.
"Y/N?" she asks to which you nod. "Pretty name for a pretty girl" she states quietly, as if it had spoken without intention. She quickly sends the photo over to you and then you bid your goodbyes, both you and the girls having places you need to be. XG waving and blowing kisses over their shoulder to you.
When they're out of sight, you squeal and jump around, excitement and fangirling fully taking over your body. Wendy and Irene laughing to themselves at the state your in. You pull your phone and set the recently obtained photo as your lockscreen and sending a quick message back to Hinata, skipping your way back to the car blooming with happiness.
a/n- i feel like i didnt really add enough of the other girls in this chapter but i will definitely be making them more active as we get deeper in to the world, i was struggling getting the brainwaves to write as work usually takes a lot of it away, but also thank you guys for all the love in the previous chapter and the first posts!? i hope you guys enjoy! ive been obsessed with thinking about how this story is gonna progress!
