KPub BBQ has just launched their new Bibimbap Lunch Sets that will make dining at KPub so much more enjoyable and affordable. The lunch sets are available from Mondays to Fridays at prices that will make you want to run to the nearset KPub branch near you. If you haven’t been to KPub just yet, where have you been?
The Hungry Kat was invited to try KPub’s new Bibimbap Lunch Sets at their Trinoma branch earlier this month and it felt great to be back at one of my favorite Korean barbecue restaurants. I have had quite a few lunch and dinner dates before at KPub BBQ with my friends before, taking advantage of their Meat All You Can packages that promises a dining experience full of grilling and eating.
Kpub BBQ is an eat-all-you-can Korean barbecue restaurant infused with a Korean pop music ambiance. Bright and colorful lights can be found all around the place which really looks like a set of a Korean music video. The first branch opened at the Fort Entertainment Complex in Bonifacio Global City and they now have two other branches in Trinoma and Ayala Center Cebu.
This entertainment hub has walls filled with K-Pop memorabilia and video screens playing loud continuous K-Pop music. I may not be a big fan of K-Pop but I have to admit that the music and the energy does get contagious and I find myself sometimes unconsciously swinging to the melodic beat.
VIP areas are also available inside KPub where you can enjoy private dinners with friends or acquaintances. It definitely will not be a boring night when you are dining at KPub because they have nightly live band performances from Tuesdays to Saturdays. KPub is also a great venue for company events, birthdays and parties with their stage, video wall, band equipment, LCD monitors and complete sound system.
They even gave me a much appreciated welcome gesture on the big LCD screen!
To start off my KPub lunch, I had the Cosmo Seoul (P150) which is their version of the Cosmopilitan cocktail with vodka, lime and cranberrry.
The new Bibimbap Lunch Sets are what I wanted to see because these are probably the most affordable and “sulit” lunch sets you can find anywhere in the city. For only the price of one of their six main dishes ranging from P299 to P349, you also get one FREE Bibimbap to go along with your dish. How great is that?
I ordered the Godunguh Gui (P349) or Fried Korean Mackerel served in this hot stone plate. The tender fish was cooked very well and I liked its light salty flavors. You can also order the So Bulgogi (Sweet Soy Garlic Marinated Beef), Dak Bulgogi (Sweet Soy Garlic Marinated Chicken), Jeyouk Bokkum (Spicy Pork), Sundubu JJigae (Spicy Tofu) or Doen Jang Jjigae (Seafood Soybean Stew) all for only P299 each.
No need to order rice with these dishes because you get an entire bowl of Bibimbap for FREE! This also comes with a set of Banchan appetizers and soup that can even be refilled once if you want more.
Bibimbap is a signature Korean dish which is basically their version of fried rice. This is white rice topped with a combination of vegetables and raw egg with a soybean paste that you can mix together inside the sizzling stone pot to get your delicious bowl of Bibimbap.
Kpub's Bibimbap is really quite good and even better than some of the other versions I tried in other Korean restaurants. One bowl can be good for one hungry person but if you tend to eat light, this can even be shared by two. That is how affordable these Bibimbap Lunch Sets are. We don’t usually have time to have long lunch breaks during weekdays, which is why the Bibmbap Lunch Sets are perfect for those on the go.
But I do have time to have a Korean barbecue feast today, so I am having their To The Max (P999) Meat All You Can Set where you can order all the meats and seafood you want from their barbecue menu for a maximum period of two hours. Just choose from the list of items on the To The Max menu and your server will bring the fresh meats and seafood to your table for grilling.
The official time starts only once your first order is brought to your table. Nope, I’m not the server today, but her name also happens to be Kat!
You can choose to cook the items yourself or have your server help you with them. There are other sets also available like the Eat & Run (P499) set with only a one hour period but you can eat fast then this is the better option. If you are a slow eater, then get the No Limits (P899) set where you can order from a designated menu without any time limits.
These thinly-sliced Beef Sukiyaki really look delicious and I can’t wait to start eating. I especially liked their grilled Salmon Belly which are so soft and juicy.
Other grilled items include Prawns and the Marinated Cross-Cut Beef Short Ribs. It does tend to get a bit hot when you are grilling the food but that’s part of the fun about dining at KPub BBQ with your friends.
There are also other cooked items that you can order from your designated menu like the Seafood Japchae which I also liked with its soft and sweet noodles. You can also order as many pieces of Ebi Tempura as you want because this is also part of the To The Max Meat buffet set.
Desserts are also included in the Meat All You Can barbecue sets like this Rice Punch for the Eat & Run set.
Do I look like a K-Pop idol now? For the other sets, dessert includes one Melona ice cream bar but you can add P25 if you want to get the other Korean ice cream bars and sandwiches instead.
I would like to thank Ms. Katrina Chua for inviting me to come back to Kpub BBQ and try their delicious Bibimbap Lunch Sets and Meat All You Can buffet, as well as for being my server for the day. I think we can both star in our own K-Pop video, don’t you think? The Bibimbap Lunch Sets are available for lunch from Monday to Friday only so head over to KPub BBQ on your next lunch break.
