Kimi, like most men, had always somewhat divide women into blondes and brunettes. The third rare hair colour was rarely on his radar and certainly not on his radar when it came to women of his interest.
But the coppery glimmer under the sun of y/n's hair caught his attention for some reason. He couldn't even figure it out and it took him a long time to get a formal introduction to y/n who is the media manager for the new Red Bull team.
After their first date that was just a simple dinner, they continued to go on dates. Then one thing led to another and y/n had moved in with Kimi and they were always travelling together with him making sure she was not in with the rest of the Red Bull team in economy.
One thing the two have absolutely bonded over is a love of sleep.
Days off are generally spent in bed either sleeping or other physical activities that they want to stay in bed for.
But at the moment they're easing into the day. Or more Kimi is watching y/n sleep while she is none the wiser to his silent admiring of her.
He has opened the curtain to try and ease her back into the land of the living through the use of natural light, but the sun hitting her is making her hair glow almost looking magical in the light.
The vibrance of her hair is making him resist the urge to reach out and play with it. They had an event for McLaren which he did try to get out of but she scolded him and ended up going with him to make sure he couldn't just pretend he attended.
Her relationship is beginning to be a bit of a point of tension with Red Bull. Y/n has made comments that she thinks it's only a matter of time before they fire her but she hasn't made any vocalising of possibly ending the relationship and choosing her job over Kimi.
He'd take care of her anyway, not that he'd take joy out her being fired but he'd take joy out of getting more time with her and just being able to spend every spare second with her.
"I can feel you staring." Y/n mumbles from her sleep, her back still facing him which only makes the Finn smile and move forward to wrap his arms around her, dodging getting a face full of red hair as he kisses her shoulder and pulls her back to himself.
"Good morning, punainen." He can only just she the smile on her face at his nickname which is just red in Finnish but for some reason it just always earns a smile.
He gently stretches her back listening to her doze for a bit longer before she finally wakes up and lifts her head a little then rolling over and facing him. A bright smile on her face before she squints over the sun now shining directly into her face.
"Ah, why is it so bright?" Y/n groans raising her hands to shield her eyes while Kimi laughs and reaches to close the curtains again.
"Sorry, I like seeing your hair in the sun." Kimi chuckles while y/n hums shuffling till she's closer to the blonde man.
"I think yours looks best. It's golden in the sun." Y/n smiles before she sighs softly and nuzzles into him.

Y/n got called to Milton Keynes on the same day Kimi had to be in Woking for McLaren and she suspected bad news.
So when she was sat down and fired. It obviously hurt and it was a blow, but she really did suspect it coming.
She let's out a shaky breath as she steps out her former place of work, swallowing the tears back as she pulls out her phone and calls Kimi knowing there's a good chance he won't answer but she tries anyway.
"Punainen?" Kimi answers after about 4 rings.
"I'm officially jobless...I'll get the train back down to London and meet you for later but figured I'd let you know."
"I will meet you there. They don't need me here today anymore." Kimi states which does surprise her but also she knows Kimi notoriously doesn't do the most and still manages amazing performances.
Y/n doesn't even bother arguing, she wants Kimi there to cry on even though the man might not necessarily be the right man to handle tears, he'll do his best to comfort her.

Y/n had been a little more quiet than usual since losing her job but when Kimi decided to spoil her to a spa day which he initially intended for her to go on her own but ended up being talked into, her mood definitely perked up.
"I do think that I might need to get myself to the salon and get my hair refreshed too. Might get a couple treatments, definitely a trim." Y/n sighs making Kimi frown since while he doesn't actually care all that much about the length the idea of less of her hair isn't one he's a fan of. "Don't make that face. I just have to make sure I look good for my debut as an unemployed WAG."
"Y/n." Kimi scolds lightly before shaking his head a little. "And I will pay for your hair but you look beautiful exactly how you are anyway."
Y/n smiles at him before she sighs moving to kiss him a couple times to actually just show her appreciation for him supporting her through this.
"I love you." Y/n smiles while Kimi flashes a smile at her that even shows teeth.
"I love you too, punainen." Kimi states then gently kissing her.
