Krangel på bussen.
To kvinner sloss bittert over siste tilgjengelige sete.

"You are what you love, Not who loves you."
She finally understood a lot more than she once had. A lot more about love, a lot more about the people that made up her family and the things they had done and why. She understood the the self-sacrificing that seemed be be a part of the Enman's. The ability to love without any return, how someone could stomach to do it. How there could be enough strength within a person to give themselves up to love wholly and completely even if there was a very real chance it would leave you nothing but aching and alone. She had come to understand the Woodrow as well as the Song's finding salvation in love, the chance to make something more of yourself because of who you loved and who loved you. And even the Watson's propensity towards properness in love, but valuing the soul rather than the package. Angel had been provided with ample time to think and digest through all of the long hours of dialysis, through the nights of exhaustion but inability to sleep due to pain. She'd begun to realize that perhaps the meaning of life wasn't that difficult. That perhaps all that you truly needed to know was who you loved, and maybe not even why but simply that you did, and recognize the way that they made you better. Love... it was giving and needy, it was unselfish and jealous, it was pure and it was shallow. Love was so many things but most importantly it was vital. She was proud to think that there weren't too many seventeen year olds who'd come to that sort of realization, but then not many had to face down their own death and know that there would be no tomorrow. Staring at the male in front of her, she could feel the tremor that ran through her entire body, overwhelming the pain and the weariness. For the moment chasing away the illness and leaving only a vast room for soul shaking agony, but most of all, relief. Relief and joy. A part of her had felt entirely empty and missing since he had been gone. When he had boarded that ship and left he had taken the most important part of her with him and she hadn't realized until this moment how much she had missed him, not truly. Angel held up her hand, silencing the conversation that had gone on thus far. The high from seeing him was still within her but the pain still pierced her back, her belly still churned with unsettled emotions and physical upset, and the weariness was sinking back into her frame. But she needed to get something off her chest first. One last thing and then she'd be able to consider herself completely free of anything she had held back, anything left undiscussed. There would be no questioning where she stood concerning him and she could go to her grave with the peace of mind knowing that she had given it all. "I've spent a lot of time thinking... " She smiled a little ironically at this. "Go figure, it takes getting sick to actually make me stop and spend a moment in thought." Per-usual she made light of the predicament she was in. "And I now get why my grandma loved my grandpa even while part of his heart still loved great-aunt Gwen. Why she was willing to wait for him to get passed that... how she could love him enough to share him in that way. And I get how daddy was patient enough to wait for mama to get her act together and admit she loved him. How he could stand to stomach her telling him and everyone else they weren't an item. That there was nothing between them." Angel paused for a moment, thinking over her next words, and proudly she didn't falter one bit in looking him in the eye and speaking her next few words. "So even though you don't return the feelings I'm going to love you anyway. Because you're worthy of it. You're one of the best people I know. But mostly because loving you makes me a better person."
