I have done it! After taking 2 days to go to work and sleep between shifts, I return to the table to finish this sexy chaos lord for official day 3. And the damaged Kranon is repaired and ready for war again.
So obviously I changed out his head, which isn’t as easy as it sounds as his head wasn’t it’s own bit. It was well molded to the chest piece when it was created. So I had to cut and carve the model up a bit until it looked good enough. I had to, as the previous owner broke off his horns. And as per my first Kranon, I decided the flesh cloak was necessary. Though I tried a different pattern as seen below. Now the previous owner must have not liked the plasma pistol because when I received the model he had a bolt pistol, so I had to give him a plasma again. Not as cool but it does the job. But otherwise it was just me painting him how I paint my army now. Which is just an evaluation and settlement on my original design as seen on the first Kranon below.
In the last 2 pictures I put Kranon MkII next to the OG Kranon for a little compare and contrast. I love both of them.
The “Flaws” of the older model still look so cool to me. Besides that awful basing attempt. I don’t like that grey.
Disclaimer: I did go back and dry brush the new guys dirt.
My rough little design for Kranon. Trying to work in ambassador motifs without being too over the top.
