‘Krazy, where are you?’ Krasia smirked as she made herself visible again and stepped out of the shadows. She looked at Dragon, who was also grinning. She reached out and took his hand. ‘Coming to the ball?’ she asked quietly. Dragon shook his head. ‘No – not after last year’s fiasco,’ he murmured. Krasia sighed. ‘C’mon, you kinda have to,’ she protested. Dragon chuckled slightly as he shook his head again. 'Krazy, I don’t want to,’ he said. ‘Dragon, that was a one-off event,’ Krasia said. She placed one slender hand on her hip. ‘They aren’t all like that, swear. C’mon, please? Please?’ She turned on the puppy-dog eyes. Dragon laughed. ‘Fine,’ he said, smiling again as Krasia squealed with excitement. ‘On one condition. I get first dance.’ ‘Who else could I dance with?’ Krasia grinned. She put her arms around Dragon’s neck and he spun her around. ‘Now – to the dressmaker’s,’ she said. ‘I don’t want to masquerade as a boy anymore. I want a real dress.’ Dragon raised an eyebrow. ‘You’re going to pay for a dress?’ he asked, slightly suspicious. Krasia laughed. ‘As if! I’m a Dagger, and Daggers pay for nothing,’ she said, taking the boy’s hand again. They set off down the alleyways, in the direction of the dressmaker’s store.
