Both of these solutions break the overall “competitive” game flow. You will have people “cheat” the system, no matter what. I think Blizzard should just do what Dark Souls did and shove all the shitty, awful, horrible people to play with onto their own server. Lock them out of playing with the general population.
However they’re running the system now is extremely broken, though - so whatever they do to fix it, they’d better fix it very bloody quickly.
Excuse my anger, I’m very, very frustrated with this game right now.
There are so many unbalanced things about it:
1. A player leaves and permanently fucks the rest of the team. This happens OFTEN. It’s happened to me in 4 out of the 6 games I’ve played today - and guess what? I’m down to 38 ranking after qualifying at 46 because when you lose ONE game, you need to win 2-3 to regain the lost ranking. This is bullshit.
2. If you lose, no matter at what odds, it appears you suffer the same damage to your rating. I won as a match of five and didn’t get rewarded for winning at massive odds. I lose as a group of five and suffer the same impact as if I lost with six. It’s such fucking bullshit.
3. Honestly, it’s bullshit.
4. I’ve played several competitive games in the past, and this system is broken. I’ve read Blizzard’s reasoning, and my honest belief is that they should have waited to release it to make sure they had a fix for the stuff that’s happening now. You can’t stop people from cheating, but you can stop honest players like me from being constantly fucked.
5. It doesn’t matter how well you play individually. In qualifications it appeared to matter (which is great!) because it mean that if your team sucked but you were blitzing, all was fine. As soon as you;re out of quals, your own individual performance doesn’t appear to matter so even if you rock all the gold medals, you still lose a big chunk of your level rating if the team loses.
TL;DR: I am so angry and upset because I was really looking forward to playing competitively because I normally really enjoy PvP and I’ve played a shit tonne of hours of it in other games, but the way the mechanics are designed in Competitive Overwatch means that unless you have a full team of six friends, you’re basically fucked.

Thanks, lady <3 I have a lot "adulting" to do today between car repairs (+1 for getting oil changes and tire rotation on schedule so I don't ruin my new car) and having to do a bunch of official bank stuff for one of my boards. So I think in my idle moments of waiting for the car, my brain decided it was best to panic over the fact that I have to go places and talk to people (which is ironic because it's kind of my job, but that's somehow a completely different, non-panic inducing scenario).

I know the feeling. I think they'd both be really good for Kitty. Xi'an has such a level head most of the time ( and Kitty would be good for her too). And Xi'an canon still has a thing for Kitty as it's come up several times in the comics, including her being really depressed over Kitty being stuck in a bullet.
