Broke: Aqua is evidence for Kris Cyan's soul.
Woke: Aqua is a parallel to Eram where Eram burned like fire Aqua flows like water and they both have burning red eyes because that's a marker for Kris and how they are both connected to them. Eram could be interpreted as an altar of Kris that is meant to prepare Kris for the knight and make them acknowledge and confront things they don't want to. Meanwhile Aqua could be interpreted as a version of Kris or an altar of Kris that is meant to give them hope, show possibilities they didn't consider before, be more free than they ever allow themself to be so that when the time comes Kris will be able to do something that they never thought they could before. Because of Eram Kris's attack increases, which is not only meant to symbolise how Kris slowly comes to terms with their violent thoughts but also aids them to survive a lot of deltarune's later fights because fighting does become more prominent in later chapters. Similarly Aqua exposes that Kris can't do proper magic and in a way to reconnect and reminds Kris of their past where they wanted to learn to do magic, the endless search history of wanting to do magic and encourages them to do it again, to try it again, right now it doesn't work but maybe in the future it might. You know. At least there is nothing wrong with hoping? Right?
