“This is just weird,” you heard Dean mutter from the other side of the couch. You looked over at him, seeing his eyes narrowed at the screen.
“Huh?” you asked, thinking of pausing the show, but not wanting to. It was getting to an intense scene and you wanted to keep up the momentum.
Dean was quiet for a minute before he elaborated. “Got dad’s mannerisms, that’s all.”
You didn’t say anything, knowing that Dean didn’t like talking about his dad all that much. You’d let him tell you more later if he wanted to.
Three episodes later and you took a break. Binge watching was fun, especially between hunts, and you and Dean often knocked out a whole season in a couple days.
“That Negan guy reminds me of dad,” Dean said as you were in the kitchen, reloading on snacks and drinks. “It makes me wonder if that’s what he’d be like, if he was still around.”
You hummed, getting a couple beers from the fridge.
The kitchen was quiet except for the two of you piling things into your arms.
“Well, let’s finish this season, yeah?” Dean asked, obviously done talking about John. You were fine with that - you could wait and pick up the little tidbits of information over time that Dean wanted to give you.
You’d always be there for him when he wanted to talk.
