Wish #6 - #RonBasejam 'Get Closer'

For me Ron Basejam is the face of the new retro, slowed-down disco house sound that I totally fell in love with this year.  His name is all over compilations and mixtapes everywhere, including Photek's awesome DJ Kicks from a couple years ago.  This sound, and this track in particular, were a staple of my beach runs this year.  Whenever I needed to kick in some energy, I played this and turned it up.  It's low key but it's funky as shit.  and it's retro soulfulness gives it such a strong humanity.

Also, thanks to DJ Lenchilada, the #themixtapeclub contributor who gave me the tune.
