My Tanuth practice from Tuesday night gave me an excuse to post the sketch of Kromelia I've had sitting around. She would be a good 42 feet in height at her head, and before I start cracking jokes about Tanuth not inheriting the height gene, it's good to note that main elementals don't continue to grow to their impressive, and otherwise unnatural heights until after their element has been fully siphoned over from their predecessor. And Kromelia, being here to stay, is going to take her sweet time doing so.
Her design is pretty self explanatory. She is the reigning Oriancarus of Earth, Gairain is her territory and life and soil are her specialties. With that in mind it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to notice the affinity she has for living organisms and matter. The idea is that centuries ago, she gradually shrouded herself in plant matter until her limbs became fused with live tree bark. Her legs and tail are covered in it, and when in this form, she is commonly seen with smaller plant matter sprouting about her shoulders. The leaves of those branches on her tail are every so often seen sprouting alongside fresh blossoms. Yatta, yatta. I changed her antlers to better suit this form too.
Tanuth is just, friggin Tanuth, ok. I have been exaggerating the curl on that crest feather of his and no one can tell me that was a bad idea, look at this smug idiot. He obviously inherited his bipedal looks from Ashtearul. I also threw in Maegolian who needs more airtime because I've been involving him in the plot more and more. He's like a second father to Tanuth anyway so it fit.
Honestly despite these two being mother and son it's ironic, to me, to see them grouped together in the same place in a mother- son light. I mean things straighten out between Krom and Tanuth, but there's always that tension there. For all her honoring that mother nature motif, she really is a terrible mom.
