I thought of an alternate discovery for the cat au: cross is lying all curled up against killer in his bed, getting pet and just generally feeling all cosy and content and drifts off for a little nap. Except when he wakes up it's morning, the sun is coming in through the window and he kinda takes a minute to wake up from such a good sleep ...and realises he's back to his regular skeleton self but still cuddled up on killer. He immediately starts to panic trying to figure out how to sneak out without being caught in nightmare's castle, but as he lifts his head to look for the door he sees killer is already awake and staring at him. Good luck explaining this one cross lol

OH MY GOD!

I've been meaning to answer this ask for a while now!

Ok hear me out!

Killer woke up first, not minding much the extra body on his bed, he figured it was probably Dust who had his occasional night terrors and slipped into his, Nightmare's or Horror's bed, but then he actually opens his eyes and gets ready to greet his dusty bunny when he stops on his tracks, his eyes wide in a mix of horror, confusion, delight and disbelief.

He pinches himself at least 3 times to make sure he's actually awake, and even then, he doesn't quite believe that himself.

He spends a good half an hour there staring in disbelief, even going as far as carefully moving Cross's face to check if the scar is actually there or not!

He stares a little longer until Cross finally opens his eyes and looks at him, seemingly just as confused and shocked.

It is then, when he lifts his head, that Killer notices a very familiar collar on his neck~

Cat gay panic au is perfect lol

Just imagine Cross back to normal, sitting in his room in the stars base trying to work through it in his head. I don't like Killer. This is just really weird and he found me, that's all! He picked me up there was nothing I could do. And I wasn't purring because it was him, cuddling me, I-I just was tired! And cats like getting fed, it was just the curse! ...And I keep going back because... i-it would be suspicious if I didn't! Killer would go looking and he might find our base! Yeah, there's nothing weird about- And next thing Dream or Blue step in like "Cross we're about to leav-" and startle him so bad he just blurts "I don't like guys!!" and they stare at each other for a bit before the other's like "That's... nice. Anyway we're leaving soon"

Cross is just mortified, he's so embarrassed he can't even mutter a word! It's definitely the curse Cross! You're not in love! Don't worry!

Okay one more,

I feel like Killer would be someone who rants and rambles to his cats at the end of the day, so Cross would get a lot of info while he's laying there being pet. At one point the conversation turns to the battle they had earlier and he starts talking about Cross... saying what a pain he is, calling him cocky and everything. Cross puts his head down and tries to pretend he's not being shit talked by the guy petting him right now, until Killer adds "like we get it, just because you're hot and everybody wants you, you don't have to be such an ass about it-" and Cross's head snaps up so fast it startles the other cats in the room lol

WHEEZEEEE It's so hard for Cross to not react to it and blow his cover. Thankfully Killer just laughs and goes ''Oh? Did you guys hear something weird outside?'' And Cross has to climb the window and stare at nothing outside for a few minutes to make it convincing dsfhsdkjfhjhsd

I can totally see him flustered later being like ''Omg he thinks I'm hot?!''

(This is 100% stolen from a terrible dating sim but) au where Cross is cursed to turn into a cat every night until he kisses someone he loves. The first night it happens, while wandering around confused as a cat he gets picked up by Killer, who takes him home and gets him cleaned up and fed. He starts spending every night coming back to Killer and getting attention and care, slowly but surely developing a crush. By day he's fighting against the bad guys with Dream, but his combat and banter against Killer is getting more awkward because of the feelings, until maybe he lets something slip that he shouldn't know and then there's a lot of explaining to do.

OMG!

OMG OMG OMG!

Ok so, Killer is blissfully unaware until Cross let's slip this one thing he has never told anyone. Killer has noticed Cross avoids attacking him at all cost, always on the defensive even when Killer hurts him, so he grabs Cross and pins him against the wall and questions him until Cross accidentally goes ''But you don't like fighting anyway!'' Which is something Killer has only ever told his cats because he figured they wouldn't tell anyone.

But Cross can't tell Killer he's the cat! It's not like he'd believe him right....?

Well, as it turns out, he did.

In secret, Cross comes to Killer's house earlier so he can see the transformation too and for a good hour, Killer stares at him without knowing what to do.

It's not like he can break the curse anyway!

I have an au similar to your cat gay panic au.

In mine, Cross has an amulet that allows him to turn into an Absol, basically a paranoid oversized cat dog thing.

Everyone knows who he is, Killer always leaves his bedroom open when he is sleeping. Cross loves sleeping on Killer's lap whenever he can. Everyone knows Cross loves belly rubs. Killer loves to tease him and ask if he wants belly rubs even in his skeleton form.

How many of these go for your Cross too?

None can be true too!

For once, no one knows about Cross's little secret yet! But Killer does leave his window open for the cat to come in whenever he'd like! (Which Cross totally does occasionally, especially when he feels lonely) And he also loves napping on Killer's lap! He learned to trust Killer after a while since he never harmed the cats!

killer bought cat toys for Cross? Cross probably couldn't resist the toys, Cross at first feels embarrassed to be playing like a cat but then he accepts it, Cross's feline instincts speak louder.

Oh totally! Killer noticed Little oreo sticks around the longest and is secretly trying to make him stay, so he bought a bed, plenty of toys, food just for him and even gave him a collar with his name!

Cross simply can't resist the cat urges now embed in his code and often finds himself curling up on Killer's lap and purring away under his pets!

It's honestly doing wonders for his anxiety and exhaustion!

Do you think Killer names him? I'm imagining he's a lil black and white cat, I could see Killer calling him oreo or boots or something. Do you think after he finds out he keeps calling Cross that as a nickname?

Do you think Cross fights him at first? Like gets his back up and scratches at him to be left alone, but Killer is used to cats being fiesty when they've been abandoned and persists until he has him fed and cleaned up. Cross relaxes a bit more when everything seems safe and fully melts when he experiences being pet and cuddled for the first time. He probably wakes up still curled up in Killer's lap and is still embarrassed about it by the time he gets back to the stars' base. Do you think Killer kisses his cats on the head and it flusters Cross so severely that he flops over and Killer has to try and help a cat through a gay panic lol

On to the idea, OMG Killer totally names him oreo! WHEEZEEEE I LOVE that so much! And I also love the though of Killer slowly approaching the new stray he found until Cross finds himself being spoiled rotten! Maybe he even gets a little collar with his new name in it! (Which later on he could use to prove he was the cat when Killer finds out)

Cat Gay Panic was the peak of my night tho dkshfkhsdkfhjksd Cross getting all flustered and panicky when Killer showers him in smoochies calling him a pretty boy!
