Wow, things have been pretty dead over here, huh?
Well, Krystaltale’s getting a new part soon and it’s too interesting to not hype up with a sneak preview, so...
Sans could just barely register Chara's muffled voice as his senses slowly came back into operation. As his vision focused back on reality, he noticed he'd dropped his phone. The screen was cracked and it seemed to have powered off...or so he hoped.
“Gracious,” the strange girl chirped from behind them, “Did I startle you?”
“Get the heck away from us before I gouge your eyes out!” Chara snapped, shoving a finger in the girl's direction. Their rash declaration caused gasps to rise from the crowd around them. Instead of looking afraid, however, the girl laughed, taking a couple steps back.
“Try if you like,” the girl said, “but I think you'll find that rather hard.”
“Please, calm down,” the employee interjected, rushing to stand between the strange girl and Sans and Chara. The employee had their walkie-talkie in their hand, likely ready to call for backup at the slightest sign of trouble.
“Don't worry,” the girl said, “I was about to leave anyho--”
The girl was suddenly stopped short by her soul flickering to life in front of her, the heart burning a bright red. Sans tensed up. This was a sure sign of a battle being triggered...but only a monster could do such a thing.
“Did you do that?” Chara asked, turning to Sans.
“of course not,” Sans replied, “believe me, you'd know if i did.”
A series of bright blue strings then shot out from the crowd behind the girl, piercing straight through her body and wrapping tightly around her soul. The girl shuddered. Amazingly, the strings weren't causing her to bleed, but Sans still grimaced at the pain she must have been in. It certainly caused the crowd to panic. People scattered in all directions, scrambling over railings and shoving each other aside to try to make it to safety. The resulting screaming and shouting was nearly deafening.
“Finally found you again...Took long enough.”
The girl's laughter slowly died down.
She then reached back and unclasped her mask, letting it fall off her face. Right when it hit the floor, the soul pieces around her flashed several different colors before glitching out of existence.
“...I have no idea what you're talking about.”
