NEO Kei
The savior of Krystvalk, flung a thousand years into the future
I experimented with some new ways to do Lining and Shading and really like how it came out. Shadows are a lot more textured now and feel much more integrated into my style, plus the thicker lines makes it much faster to draw specific things and focus less on unnecessary details
Back in early 2021 I took a 3D Concept Art class where I ended up entirely modeling my OC Kei. It was a really fun learning experience! Results are pretty good, but not quite what I hoped for certain areas, but was extremely informative and fun all the same!
Started of course with turn arounds. I had to design a prop for him too so this is actually where his dagger originated from.
Then came the actual modeling which took about... 5-6ish weeks? (the entire class lasted 10 weeks)
Then I got to pose, texture, and color him! His final turnaround came out pretty good!!!
And I had to make a render to show him off! Pretty cool, right?
The entire project was done in Zbrush, posed in Maya using a quick rig, textured in Substance Painter, and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.

Scion's Dagger
My first piece for my mentorship class at CGSpectrum.
I had never really tried proper lineless rendering before this so I was pretty surprised to see that I could actually do it! I've also never been critiqued before on my art itself, and its super fascinating and informative.
Though some of you may be wondering "Hey isn't that Kei's dagger? Why is it on display?" If you are then read below...
Kei... My little Warrior of Light... (wanted to play around with more rendering techniques and this was quite fun)

Additional concept art for the rider, as well as painted material wedges to learn better rendering. I had never really properly done digital painting before this class so I was surprised that I got the basics down fairly quickly.
Also here's a time-lapse!
