The best parts are, as always, in the bts and extra footage XD Now, I can't possibly imagine the show without Jin Jing, she brings the comedy, the drama, and the not-so-gentle roasting of fellow co-players, ahah))))

ALSO!!! in case anyone has been wondering, if there is a difference between the vibe of 开始推理吧The Truth and 明星大侦探/大侦探 Who's the Murderer? (since theyre the two main murder-mystery shows now and the truth has a cast thats more famous among younger demographics) having watched part of S1 and S2 of the Truth, my own two cents is that The Truth is like a more "idolized" version of Who's the Murderer?

I dont mean it in the "it's worse" or "it's better" way. Just that the cast is younger and comes closer to being idols (even if S1 was a bit of a mix) so it has more restraints. It might come across as "woow they're crazy" if you only watch c-variety involving younger celebrities on average; but it's not whacky whacky. These are normal people who get along relatively well, filming a variety show and aware of doing so and the image they must present. they let go sometimes, with moderation. Who's The Murderer? is its own beast, mostly because Sa Beining is out of control, but also because... you know. Wei Daxun and the like. It's peculiar and I've yet to see that atmosphere replicated in another c-variety. Even Great Escape is different from Who's The Murderer? Conversely, if you can't stand the whilrwind that is Sa Beining, The Truth might be best for you, because boy it's impossible to ignore Sa Beining through S1-S6. It's like letting out your dog on the set of a show, but the dog is also a babygirl, that's his vibe

Also The Truth is, from the cases I've seen at least, less complex for now. This has its pros, since it's easier to follow. On the con side, it's less mind-blowing if you're used to Who's The Murderer shenanigans.

Finally, The Truth combines murder-mystery with some basic escape room elements, but it's less about code-solving or puzzles than about like, physical games or mini test of courage-style things. Again, based on the eps of The Truth I did watch, I feel like this has more watch value if you are a fan of a particular celebrity in the cast and you want to see your fave play games (kind of how regular c-variety works, I'd say). But if you are just normal about the cast members, it's just okay. Like I rly like Liu Yuning, but I found it just okay.

Who's the Murderer has less escape room elements, including less use of NPCs at least in S1-S8. It's however just.... very funny imo. There is more watch value if you're going in for the stories without knowing the cast beforehand (the cast grows on you AFTER you start). Conversely, this is a funny cast unafraid to be Silly, and very good at Presenting? so if you are more interested in like a silent camera following a cast documentary style, maybe The Truth is more for you.

the thing that gets me the most abt the truth s3 is the fact that. its such a stacked season—all of these actors are so damn good at their jobs it really makes you forget its a variety show.
