Hi! I see you love to mix things and found you through Google with this question -how would it be to put some purple shampoo into a hair dye?I have a problem dying my hair, as it always comes out light, but yellowish, and I want a cold undertone. I use Keune 1517 which is their lightest violet ash blonde, and it still results yellow on my naturally dark blonde hair.I read that you mix veg dyes with conditioner, have you tried mixing them into dye? Thanks!
I never have, and I dont think it would work to be honest, I could be wrong, but heres how I see it.
The dye that you put on your hair uses a developer to set the dye into the hair, putting a shampoo with this would off set the chemical balance and could result in a completely different colour, as you wouldnt just be mixing two like and like products, you'd be mixing to chemical products.
Veg dyes are basically conditioner with colours in them anyway, they coat the shaft of the hair to add colour, but since there is no developer, they dont permeate the cuticle of the hair itself.
What you would have to do is get a violet toned corrective colour from Keune (if possible) and mix this with your usual dye and developer!
Alternatively, dye your hair as normal, then use a toner afterwards. Most blondes (if dyed) have to use a toner after the dye to upkeep the cool tones in their locks.
If you want more of a lift with your colour you could decide to use a stronger developer also, this might solve your problem, depending on the strength you are using now, be careful as this can be damaging. Dont use anything over a 30 and stick with the manufacturers instructions.
As for veg dye toners, they dont often work and I wouldnt recommend using one anyway ;)
Hope this helped? :S
Also I love that you found me on google :)
