QUESTIONS FOR THE TAGGED.
1) Write a 6 word poem that tells a whole story (Not really a question I know but we did this in 10th grade and I really like the idea)
No
said the sky
I'm not.
2) What is your favorite type of tea?
The only tea I don't like is Oolong (and ancient Chinese remedies).
3) How many kids do you want in the future?
A french bulldog.
4) What TV show would you want to live in?
Fuck that, Supernatural = No. Teen Wolf = No. BBC Sherlock = No. I will likely revise this answer when the American Gods Series comes out, but until then, none.
5) What do you think are good qualities in a Politician?
Politicians have qualities?
6) Who is someone who has touched your life that you really didn’t think they ever would and how did they touch your life?
God this is sappy, but probably Elizabeth, my best friend. She's everything that I'm not and while I don't agree with everything she's done, I admire her spirit and drive to do it.
7) What fictional character do you aspire to be like?
Shadow from American Gods. (this is a reoccurring theme if you haven't noticed)
8) If you could meet anyone for a meal (breakfast lunch or dinner), and I mean anyone regardless of time or distance or anything, who is this person and when/where would you eat with them? O____o
I would lock up and not know what to say to anyone I admire, so I would like to meet one of the actors or writers of a show or book I like and not recognize them and meet them and have a conversation with them in the seat next to me on a train or plane over shitty food and coffee/tea.
9) What is your absolute favorite gif?
Oh god, there are so many. But I do not collect them so I cannot post them. I really like the animal ones. I just saw one with ferrets falling up stairs that I love.
10) DC or Marvel?
Don't care.
11) Favorite nerdy pickup line?
Are those pants made by Karl Marx? 'Cause that ass is causing an uprising in my lower class.

10) What is the main plot in every story ever told?
Hi :) so while your stories are fun and fluffy to read, I can't say I always agree with the way you characterize Kurt. Your interpretation of him seems much weaker, more needy than in canon (where he seems much sassier and independent and prideful) and I was wondering what made you begin to write him like that? (please don't take this as hate I just want to get some insight into your characterization of him and didn't know how else to word it)
This is a very interesting question!! I'll do my best to answer it properly.
First of all, for the most part I love canon!Kurt (when they're not trying to write him as saint!Kurt, which ugh, cannot stand). I love his sassiness and his attitude and his extrovertedness. He's such a fun character.
But at the same time, he's a very complicated character. On the surface he's very strong and assertive and almost flippant sometimes, but there's such a heavy undercurrent of vulnerability that we rarely get to see, outside of the occasional glimpse. And especially when you take his backstory into account- a very lonely kid who didn't have any friends to speak of until his sophomore year of high school, who's been the brunt of supposedly funny "pranks," who didn't reveal his sexuality to his father because he was scared of what would happen and even tried to change himself to keep his father's attention and love, who lost his mother as a very young child and admits to missing her so much that as a teenager he still breathes in the scent of her perfume to comfort himself.
So when I write Kurt, I like to...well, deconstruct him, in a way. I like to see how far he needs to be pushed before he cracks, to see which people he can be vulnerable around and which people he still strives to maintain his mask. I like to push his buttons to see how he reacts to things, how deeply his emotions run. And then I like to write the fallout and see how it unfolds- what he expects, what actually happens, how he grows from the experience.
I also like to go back and write about the things that shaped him into the person he is now, as well as writing what would happen if things had gone differently. For instance, I believe that if his mother had lived, he would be a different person- less highstrung, more effortlessly confident, more open. I also think he would have come out a lot earlier than he did.
I don't know. I feel like I'm just pontificating and being annoying. But I really like playing around with Kurt's character.
