Taped up arms! PT has been very eye opening. Still not 100%, but doing somewhat better. ✅ #physicaltherapy #KTtape #arms #shoulders #PT https://www.instagram.com/p/CUc9ucZA4K7/?utm_medium=tumblr
KT Tape binding
Tried using KT Tape to bind today. I got the original kind from Target for $11, which is reasonable for me financially. The pack comes with 20 pre-cut strips which are 10″ (25cm) long and 2″ (5cm) wide. The original kind has a very similar texture to a bandaid.
Here’s my experience with it so far...
I ended up using 8 strips on each side of my chest, giving me two uses per pack... which isn’t very sustainable (especially if I did this regularly once a week). I used 3 full-length strips and 1 strip cut in half (used to secure the “pooch” of fat at the upper outer corners of my chest).
It got me reasonably flat, about the same as a new binder would. I have a B-C cup chest, which T and weight loss have made “saggy.” Obviously the only way I’ll ever be totally flat is with top surgery, which I’ve been looking into seriously this year... but that’s for another post.
There’s obviously a pulling feeling to it, but it isn’t painful (though we’ll see if I eat my words when I take it off). The only real discomfort is when crossing my arms in front of my chest, leaving little room for my ribcage/lungs to expand.
I’ll most likely remove it tonight after soaking it with Dr. Bronner’s castille soap for 5-10 minutes and getting in the shower.
MY NEW FRIEND GAVE ME THEIR OLD KT TAPE MY RIBS ARE SAVVVVEEEDDDD AAAAAAA
Finally on the road to recovery from my knee issues! Ran a 5k on Thursday and ran a nice 10 mile run with hill repeats in the middle. Can’t quite get back to lower body lifts, but I’m working on strengthening exercises and stretches to strengthen my core and lower body
Honestly, the most precious momments of my life happend last night, i was exhausted and so i went to lay down about an hour after i had fallen asleep, my girlfriend came in there and was cuddling me and talking to me, i heard her say "oh honey you forgot to take you tape off"(KT TAPE) then i felt her gently pull each strip tape off my chest and count the pieces to make sure she had all four... im so inlove with her.
kt tape is amazing because binders make me sore but, it hurts. so bad. to take off. but it's worth it. i think. :)
Extensor tendinitis is not fun 0/10 do not recommend. That's what I get for having to buy new running shoes. This shit better be healed by warped. Using KT tape for the first time because something has to get me through these workouts. #fitlife #kttape #extensortendonitis #runner #runningproblems
