// ( ♥ ) EXPERIMENTAL GROUP ANNOUNCEMENT

A selected number of trainees are taking to one of the empty practice rooms during breakfast time on January 1st in order to avoid gathering too much attention. They’re told to sit and wait by one of their coaches and then are left alone. It takes only a couple of minutes for the coach to return, followed by a few others, and a man dressed in less casual clothes, yet not as formal as those fancy men in suits. “You may stand up now.” He’s the one to say it, and they all wait for the trainees to organize themselves.

“My name is Yoon Joonki. You may have many thoughts about what can be going on. One of them is probably the moment of debut you’ve all been waiting for. That’s not quite it.” He chuckles and shakes his head. “Some of you here have been practicing for a very long time, some maybe not. I don’t know you as well as these guys, admittedly.” Joonki motions to the coaches beside him. “What happened is that I asked for the coaches to share their thoughts on some of the trainees we currently have under KT Entertainment. Based on their opinions, I gathered here some of the more promising ones. All 9 of you will be put in what we call an ‘experimental group’. Most probably, not all of you will get to debut together, and maybe we’ll think of bringing some more people in. Based on the talent that you show us, but also on the chemistry between you, we’ll maybe consider someone for debut. Understood?”

He waits for everyone to reply before nodding his head. “Okay, before I go on, why don’t we check if everyone’s here? I’ll read your names out loud. Just reply with anything.”

Below, you’ll find the list of male trainees under KT Entertainment who have been assigned to the experimental group:

“Well, if we’re all here, then let’s move on to how this’ll work.”

“Nothing much, really. You’ll continue to practice as you normally would, but now we’ll ask you to only practice with the friends you see around you. If you’re the only ones up for consideration, we don’t want to check your chemistry with other people. You may break into smaller groups for practice if you want, but let’s try working together, okay?” He nods again. “Also, all the lessons on your schedule will be more intense. You’ll have multiple of your coaches who are around here pushing you to your limits and paying close attention to find out who can make it big, and maybe who needs a bit more time before achieving that dream.”

Joonki looks down, stares at the file in his hands, then looks back up. “‘Can I tell my mom?’ Sure. If you don’t make it after, though, you better not make her cry. And will you take part in the monthly evaluations? Yes. You’ll hear about it later today. You’ll all go together to where you need to go. You’ll all work together on what you need to work on. You’ll all perform together what you need to perform. It’s easy instructions, isn’t it?”

With a final, strong clap, he points at one of the coaches. “You can take them back now.” With his order, the coaches all start moving and directing the trainees towards the door—an image that looks like cattle. “Go back and eat together too!” Anyone can hear Joonki from inside the room. “Happy New Year!”

OOC: So you’re in an experimental group… now what?

As explained above, all that’ll really change for your muse’s day-to-day life is that they’ll be made to only practice with each other and that lessons will be a bit harder than what they’re used to.

As a part of the entertainment company you will be representing onstage, you must know how to start from the bottom. While idols are advertising their company on a glorified stage with glamorous visuals, trainees must advertise their company in another way.

You, as a KT trainee, must visit at least eight people in their inbox to hand out a KT Entertainment flier. This flier will list upcoming KT Entertainment concerts and important dates, as well as contact information for anyone currently unsigned and interested in becoming a future star.
