I hate fighting him and I can’t even kill him because Mari has to or else “well fuck, guess I’ll die” and she does shit for damage! Like, she almost gets one shot by any monster and deals not even 10 damage to the guy. I don’t care if I kill him at this point. Come back stronger, ya big bitch! I’ll harness the fucking sun to burn your ass alive!

This doesn’t even cover how pissed off this fight gets me. I could just say “whelp, RIP Mari,” but no. I want to save her.

Check the Kudlak battle for “annoying segment which I’ll think about if I get the urge to replay this game in the future” seriously though, letting an npc who deals 20-30 per turn damage finish off a boss? That’s such a shitty mechanic.

I've sort of wanted to talk about these guys on the blog for a while, and since I'm just starting to add figures from Slavic mythology, I feel like now would be the best time to talk about them. So, with that said, allow me to introduce the Krsniks!

These powerful shamans would do battle against the evil Kudlaks: vampires that sought to bring harm to the community and its people, wreaking havoc as they flew through the air. In this sense, Krsniks stand as a force of good, while Kudlaks, their polar opposite, stand for evil. However, these two are not as different as one might think, as Kudlaks also operate by separating their soul from their body, appearing at night in the the form of a black animal. A person born with a caul, which is a harmless piece of membrane that can cover a newborn's head and face, was destined to become one or the other; likely determined by his own moral character.

Krsniks were also said to be educated in magic thanks to the help of the Vile, who were fairies said to have complete control over the wind. They also seemed to be quite skilled in medicine, and were easily able to heal people and livestock. Though after Christianity was introduced to the area, they were said to learn magic at a black magic school in Babylon, but luckily still retained their benevolence and charity to the community. Christianity sure likes to throw in its own two cents...

To any of you out there who were born with a caul, you might want to start reconsidering your life choices.
