lol I've been working on this project for going on four years I have a lot of feels about these nations

Very simply. Three main countries, Odella, Aldair and Eelan.

Odella is a nation built on a very agricultural economy, lots of farming and whatnot, possesses the largest forest on the continent. Aldair is smaller, and bordered on two sides by mountains. The majority of its landscape is made up of plains, it's a whole lot of nothing and isn't the most welcoming environment. Eelan has the benefit of water. It's southern border is on the sea, the border that it shares with Odella is a river, it has the most running water of any of the three nations.

Anyways, it started with Odella as an Oak tree, which are, you know very strong trees, they can symbolize strength and endurance, which is the only reason the nation survived the Super Important Event that occurred several centuries before the book started out. There's more there in my head but well, gotta hold off on that until I decide how I want to work shit out.

Eelan is a  hickory tree. They tend to grow near water, if I recall correctly, but more than that, they're very hard and tough. Resiliant to impact, and able to outlive other hardwoods, if I recall correctly from class. They can work through poor soil and regrow quickly, but never lose that strength. The country itself just didn't stop after the Super Important Event. While the economy of the other nations were destroyed, they were just like fuck this shit, and pushed themselves farther out onto the coast, etc to find a way to survive.

Aldair is moss, though, which is why I said plants and not trees Moss grows on stones and other areas (much like the people themselves) and has survived for millions of years (fun fact mosses are very low on the evolutionary chain and are super archaic plants). They can endure and will always come back. (And some will argue it's more of a lichen, a fungi that just can be mistaken as a plant at times. And they break down rock and wood and I believe just about anything they grow on, over time, much like how if unchecked Aldair could you know....Destroy society as it is~)

I have spoken to my academic five times, if you count emails. APO is mostly student run, we have one on campus advisor who I've met once. I might ask Rory (our section leader) but idk because he and I aren't super close?
