I feel this needs to be said separately, especially given all the mess about tagging and those pearl-clutchers having made everyone and their mothers nervous about what they can and can not post:

You are a fanfic author - not a personal assistant that has to hold their reader’s hand.

As long as you tag properly, everything else (filtering, skipping, noping out when something isn’t their cup of tea) is not your responsibility anymore. Some want just smut, some want fluff, some want a mixture - the tagging system is there to make them find it. It’s really all you can do.

If a reader insists you baby-proof their fanfic experience for them they obviously shouldn’t be unsupervised on the internet in the first place.

I am happy so many people are interested in bg3 - but I swear to [insert god of choice here] - if the dragon age fandom brings over their shitty discourse policies and behaviour I am going to throw something.

So @ashalle-art​ and @hobo-apostate​ got me a cameo from Astarion’s voice actor, Neil Newbon for my birthday today, and he did half of it in character and quoted a bit of one of my bg3 stories (the hunter and the prey) and I’ve died and ascended to heaven.

you know, part of me is wondering if they are doing the hero-worship and pedestal putting to the point of being uncomfortable about it on purpose - like, are they setting a certain character up for getting massively let down by his idol (us) because they are not seeing us as a regular person who can fail?

Because that could actually go into an interesting writing corner. (and no, I don’t want bad things to happen to anyone, but it would be admittedly much more interesting than just having your fanclub president with you on your travels...)

I might be taking in a second cat. Out of nowhere and probably this weekend already. I am excited 👀

I only saw pictures of her but she's 2 1/2 years old, very cuddly apparently, and loves children. Her owners have to give her away bc their daughter developed a strong allergy. They are super sad about it and need a happy new home for her.  Oh, and her name is Luna! And she's a gray-black tabby.

Little Update

I need to take a step back from everything at the moment, but what that most pertains to are commissions.

The ongoing pandemic atm is particularly restricting and impactful where I live and on top of it I am battling with some chronic health issues that are especially bad right now, leaving me unable to be up or concentrate for prolonged amounts of time. The time I do have to be creative is best spent working on my own projects, honing my skills, and accomplishing my goals. (And to not lose my mind through all of this, I am guessing people everywhere can relate after the year we’ve all had)

I still have a waiting list with a handful of people I’ve been really looking forward to write for - and I would love to but atm I have to face that fact that its not possible for me.

I WILL get back to it, but I can’t say how fast everything will work out so I’d feel guilty for just postponing it a bit. I’d rather outright say I can’t do commissions right now until I am in a better state. I am sorry for everyone who was looking forward to this.

Those on my waiting list - if you want I can leave you on there and contact you first when I am able to work on commissions again.

So Ia m going to turn anon off for now since this has reached a point where I am getting uncomfortable checking my inbox.

I’m sorry about it, because I really enjoy all the positive interactions I’ve had in the past with people that only felt comfortable messaging me on anon and I am going to miss that greatly but atm it seems to be the best choice. Hopefully I can turn it back one once this mess has blown over.

In the meantime, if you ever wanna message me but feel self-conscious about it: I promise I will never publish any ask you don’t want me to and the regular tumblr chat function is open to you too.(And I am not a scary aloof person, I’m just a nerdy dork like everyone else here.)

I have an unwritten rant to those messages in my head but I honestly don’t have the energy to engage anymore. 

Just fyi, my present kids (no future eventualities needed) are more mature and decent than this at their respective ages of 12 and 14 - and they do know how to engage with people online and what not to do. As well as to how to curate their own online experience. They are certainly not about to be embarrassed anon, thanks for worrying.
