I really can’t understand how anyone can think Gale was even an option for Katniss, even just three chapters into my Catching Fire reread I’m just shaking my head here.

Katniss says Peeta’s kisses are steady and comforting. She has a whole range of emotions during the kiss in the snow and immediately after.

Gale’s kiss? Katniss is just like… Idk, his lips were really warm, I guess?

I mean one could argue that Katniss said the same about her first kiss with Peeta, but I don’t really count that since it was an observance of his fever. Not a stolen moment in the woods where neither were dying or injured.

one thing i've started noticing recently is that my sense of a rarepair is entirely skewed. i think a pair is fairly common and then theres 10 works on ao3.

I feel this needs to be said separately, especially given all the mess about tagging and those pearl-clutchers having made everyone and their mothers nervous about what they can and can not post:

You are a fanfic author - not a personal assistant that has to hold their reader’s hand.

As long as you tag properly, everything else (filtering, skipping, noping out when something isn’t their cup of tea) is not your responsibility anymore. Some want just smut, some want fluff, some want a mixture - the tagging system is there to make them find it. It’s really all you can do.

If a reader insists you baby-proof their fanfic experience for them they obviously shouldn’t be unsupervised on the internet in the first place.
