Jewel Joker features Amu and Tadase getting sent on an infiltration mission and both of them getting mixed up in evil gay situationships that mirror the sort of complications and insecurities they've faced in past bonds from the original series
I like how this spotlights how much much their empathy, trust, and self-awareness evolved throughout the first series and how it puts that to the test here
Amu's seeing a girl who doesn't know who she is in the mirror and is desperate to be something, anything but what she is, because she hates herself, and Amu knows that pain and it makes her freeze
Tadase is bonding with someone who is so many red flags and making the active effort to trust and stand by them because Tadase wants to believe in those he loves, he's struggled to do so in the past and never wants to go through that again
