Obsession

Ever since my lectures finished for the year, I've begun to develop a slightly unhealthy fan obsession with Shannen Doherty. 

It started with the discovery that Charmed was back on telly on Pick TV and eventually on E4 daily. I've always loved Charmed and that is my first memory of Shannen. Don't get me wrong I love Holly Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano but there's just something about Shannen's temperament that makes her such an intriguing person for me but what got me started was the fact I couldn't remember how her character, Prue, died. So I went searched and watched the early Charmed episodes and quickly discovered that her departure was messy to say the least.

This led to me doing a bit more searching on Youtube watching to find out why she left. I soon found that wherever I looked, there wasn't a clear answer. However, as I was Youtubing I found a series she has done called 'Shannen Says', a series based on the planning of her wedding to Kurt Iswarienko. Here I discovered that Shannen has a massive heart and is extremely dedicated to her craft and her family. I think it is this attitude that has drawn me to her so much. I seem to recognise myself in her-for want of a better, less cliché phrase. I also think that her personality has been somewhat misunderstood by the media, but that is another line of thought.

Finally, I would like to wish Shannen and her new husband Kurt Iswarienko all the best in the world with there marriage, not that they need it as they already have all the love and support of their friends and family around them.
