          The night had gone smoothly. Kushina had seemed to be having a great time with him tonight on their first official date. She’d laughed at his jokes. Shut down a bunch of other Shinobi who had tried to talk to her. She had even leaned over on his shoulder during the fireworks show the festival had set off. And now, here he was walking her back to her parent’s home. They stood awkwardly before each other before a sudden boast of courage overcame Minato.

          Leaning down, he stopped just before reaching her lips, waiting for her to close the gap. He was surprised that she had closed the gap and kissed him. The kiss was simple, sweet, and brief before they broke apart. A sheepish smile crossed his features as he rubbed the back of his neck, slightly embarrassed. “Well… goodnight Kushina.”

     忍び Ever since having arrived to this world; a world Naruto knew that was not his own... not meant to be his life or his experiences... He was nothing short of conflicted. At first, it was almost easy to tell himself this was not real, that it was mere illusions created by Madara... Nothing but lies. But the longer he was stuck in this universe, the harder it was to deny the things he'd craved the entirety of his Shinobi existence. The happiness he wanted.

A loving mother and father... his family... It was cruel.

Eventually, he caved. The will to leave was disappearing, and Sakura had definitely been the first to notice. Maybe even before himself.

But he ignores that voice in the back of his head reminding him this wasn't real, and is instead running for the home he and his family shared in this world. One he found was different than his own.

Even so... it felt more like home.

There's some time of hesitance as he stands outside, hand hovering over the doorknob as his mind races with far too many thoughts... a chance to turn back and continue the way he should have. But... he just can't.

With a deep breath, the door is slowly opened, and with it... two very welcoming ninja are revealed.

"M-mom... dad..."

Naruto manages to get out, verklempt from merely seeing them, hearing their warm voices... its too much.

Their welcomes continue, and eventually the utter joy of it reaches him. He smiles.

"I'm home!"

He blinks rapidly a few times, expression a bit startled, but then he grins. “What was that for?” he asks, chuckling as he wraps an arm around her waist to pull her closer.

          Naruto looked up at his mother when she spoke, sleepy cerulean eyes half lidded. He had fun alright, he had a lot of fun. But now he was tired and he was pretty sure he would fall asleep right here in her lap at any moment. “Mhm, I had lots of fun Kaa-chan. But now I’m sleepy. Can I take a nap here?”
