Parties have, since starting college, been places where Hansol has found the attention he sorely desires. However, it’s not always flowers and sunshine when it comes to guys at parties. Often, they’re drunk and obnoxious, handsy and insistent. The one’s who are nice make up for it though, so Hansol never stopped dressing to catch attention. But ever since he’d had a few unpleasant encounters with men at parties, he’d been more vigilant, noting which looked like the ones he should steer clear of.
That’s how he notices the girl seemingly trapped by what was clearly the biggest douchebag at the party. Hansol doesn’t want to just butt in if she’s got it—he doesn’t want to assume that she needs someone else’s help. She might be able to beat the guy up all by herself, who knows. But he doesn’t make sure to keep an eye on the situation, just in case.
After a while of the girl clearly trying to detach herself from the situation, and the guy, stupidly, not taking the hint, Hansol decides he’d better do something. If it were him he’d hope someone would do the same for him. There’s a certain unspoken pressure to not upset these guys, as if fearing they might turn ugly (uglier than they already are). So, if anyone’s going to put themselves in danger, it’ll be him to help her out.
“Hey babe, I’ve been looking for you!” He calls out as soon as he gets within earshot, sliding through the crowd with two cups of water he’d grabbed on his way over. As he stops beside her he looks up at the guy and frowns, “Can I help you?”
