          The shattering sound of coins clinking was followed only by silence. Dead silence, crushing silence. Deep breath in. Deep breath out. Tune them out. He sighed out, feeling the anger, shame, fear bubble up in his belly. It burned and bad, it was like acid coming up his throat. He was here now. Dad was watching him and smiling, mom too. They loved him and he knew that. He knew they loved him. Hajime breathed in again. He could do this. He knew he could. He’d practiced with grandpa and dad a million times. He had their trust and their unconditional love. Breath out...and SLICE. Hajime brought his fist down quick swiftly and forcefully, to connected with the wooden plank and CRACK smashed right through it.
