Max Pietschmann | Der Fischzug des Polyphem | 1892
Ernst Max Pietschmann (* April 28, 1865 in Dresden; † 1952 in Niederpoyritz, Dresden) was a German artist and representative of symbolism.
Symbolism was a late nineteenth-century art movement in poetry and other arts seeking to represent absolute truths symbolically through metaphorical images and language mainly as a reaction against naturalism and realism.
