The Porter Brother’s Headcanon

Kyle’s favorite Disney movie of all times is the Jungle Book. His brother, Collin’s is The Rescuers and Kevin’s is The Fox and the Hound.

Kyle has a secret love of country music. It’s almost all that he plays, but he won’t admit (even if you ask him) that this is his favorite music. Maybe it’s because music is one of the few things he uses to communicate and because country music is all about stories, or maybe it’s because country music is his story, but either way it’s his favorite.

Kyle never speaks. There is some debate regarding whether or not he is capable of doing so or if he simply prefers to keep to keep his thoughts to himself, but the fact is that he never speaks.

This is a simple fact about Kyle.

Most people believe that Kyle has kept his silence because of things that he saw when he was in Afghanistan. It’s an appropriate assumption given that he was the sole survivor from his unit. 

The truth, however, is strange. He survived because he experienced his first change of form from human to feline, which not only scared his enemies but gave him increased physical strength in spite of his overall loss of size.

This transition scared Kyle and changed him at an elemental level, which is the reason that he doesn’t speak. Other people will make their assumptions of him unless they are gifted with the ability to see his past. He’s a surprisingly happy person for someone who has seen so much and experienced so much trauma.
