Izzet?
I think I'm gonna re-imagine one of my favorite and oldest decks. Melek has always been a showcase of some of my favorite Izzet spells, and I do still like the deck as it is, but I think it's time to try something new.
Here's the list as it stands right now: Math With Melek
I think my issue is that the deck is very static. It just sits there until it can combo off and win. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but going for the same Reiterate/Turnabout combo every game gets a little old after a while. Honestly, the most fun part of this deck is playing Epic Experiment and seeing what you get! Whether it's good or bad, dumping 10+ mana into an Epic Experiment (or two) is always a blast. In fact, I built the deck with Epic Experiment specifically in mind. Note that I don't have any counterspells that can't also do something else! Flipping a Force of Will or something during an Epic Experiment is pointless, but Cryptic Command can actually do something. So, with that in mind, I think I'm going to shift the commander over to this fellow:
Not only will I have an Epic Experiment on the commander, but the deck itself will be more active because it will require more of a creature presence! Heck, it might even be able to win with commander damage. The balance between creatures and other spells may be tricky to find, but I think the deck will be more fun to play this way overall.
