Todo: And you can trust me. Todo: Because I don’t care enough about any of you to lie.
kyoto kids don't often gather in full for some kind of movie on a projector in the living room (but they love such cozy evenings):
wrapped in plaids on the floor, mai usually puts momo's head on her lap. her cool hands remove scrunchies and gently massage the scalp, and then comb the long strands with a wooden comb. mai snorts with satisfaction when she hears momo's sarcastic comments about what is happening on the screen
noritoshi is sitting relaxed on the sofa. glasses have slipped down on the tip of his nose. he is dozing, pressed on both sides, like a source of heat, favored by impudent cats. kasumi sleeps with nose buried in his collarbone, her arms wrapped around his waist like a koala hugging bamboo, and kokichi has shaggy head on his shoulder, fingers lazily playing with scrunchie on noritoshi's wrist. noritoshi doesn't mind, he even likes to feel the weight of their bodies on him (i like this ot3 rareship)
arata in a large yellow hoodie comfortably sitting with his feet in a corner armchair. he periodically glanced at the vibrating phone and sighed (his sister sent him a lot of voice messages, but he doesn't have headphones with him to listen them)
todo was sitting in a bag chair with a moisturizing mask on his face, it was unusual to see him so calm and relaxed, and he managed to eat cucumber circles with chamomile tea before anyone sees (i have hc that todo believed in the relaxing power of spa evenings. he knows about face masks that takada-chan uses, and drinks chamomile tea of the same brand (at one of the fan-meetings, takada-chan slowly dictated names of cosmetics so that girls standing in front of todo had time to write them down) i find it funny)
todo being the official cause of stress for not ONE but THREE of the kyoto students (mai, kamo, momo) in their character profiles is so fucking funny
[ID: a digital drawing of the students in Jujutsu High in their baseball uniforms. the art is outlined in shades of blue and purple. Nobara and Maki are on the left and they are seen full body. Nobara has her right arm around Maki’s shoulders and is making a peace sign with her left hand. her eyes are closed and she is smiling. Maki has her left hand wrapped around Nobara’s waist. she is holding a baseball bat over her right shoulder and is smiling. they are standing pretty close to each other. on the right are two boxes that kind of look like stamps. Megumi and Yuuji are in the first one, seen full body. Megumi is has a baseball glove on his hand and his black divine dog is at his feet. he looks grumpy. Yuuji is to his right, squatting like he’s catching. he is smiling. Momo and Mai are in the second box which is below the first. they are seen from the knees and up. they are both facing the right but looking forward. Momo is on the left and is holding her broom like a bat. Mai is to her right and is holding an actual baseball bat. they both have impassive faces. at the bottom right are eight more stamp-like boxes, much smaller than the other two. they each have one of the team members in them and are all close-ups. Panda is in the first one on the top row, looking to the right. Todo is in the second, getting hit in the face with a baseball. Miwa is in the third and hers isn’t as zoomed in as the others. she is looking at the ball flying in the distance. Utahime is in the fourth one, one hand shielding her eyes from the sun and scowling. Inumaki is in the first one on the bottom row. he is holding up a peace sign. Kamo is in the next, his head completely bandaged. Mechamaru is in the third, but he is in his machine pitching form. Gojo is in the final one. his hands are cupped over his mouth. he is smiling widely and calling out to someone. the background is like a checkerboard but all white. the top right is just white in the background, though. /End ID.]

Opinions on the Todo & Mai Friendship Fannon?
I say Fannon, because in cannon they don’t really seems like buddies.
They definitely aren’t friends in canon, but I would like to add two characters can have an interesting dynamic without liking each other. As a whole the Kyoto Kids seem to be one, big, dysfunctional friendgroup. It’s a running gag that no one in the group likes Todo (they all go “nice pitch” when he gets hit by the ball), and Todo himself is the one who is the most likely to leave the group and go off on his own. He got angry at the Kyoto Kids plotting with their teachers to kill Yuji, but not so much because of the deceit involved as he did not want to be told what to do by the entire group and wanted to make up his mind for himself.
Todo and Mai clearly do interact. They show up together to greet the Tokyo Kids. There’s an omake where Todo drags Mai to go meet Tall-Idol Takada Chan. Mai’s current stress in the databook is listed as “Todo.” Their canon relationship seems to be that of two people who do not really like each other, but hang out a lot anyway because they’re part of the same friend group.
Which I like because there are more complex relationships with the Kyoto Kids, they’re not just all a big friend group who all like each other. There’s these litte details in the way they all interact with each other. Momo takes her role as a senpai for both Mai, and Miwa pretty seriously and tends to dote on them. They also mention that because there are so few kids, Momo acts more like a friend than a senpai at times despite the big age difference. Kamo tends to be viewed as the “No-Fun Guy”. He gest angry at Todo for being a bad exmaple to the others and not taking his position as senpai seriously. He’s constantly lecturing people on proprietry. He’s the one trying the hardest to be an adult. He sympathizes with Mai’s troubles as a member of the Zenin clan, but Mai seems to just consider him a nag.
Kokichi is the outsider of the group and tends to be treated that way too because everyone’s kind of insensitive about the fact that he’s a robot, but he still loves everyone’s weird attempts to reach out to him and more than anything else wants to be a part of the group. He also looks down on his friends and sees a lot of them as weak because they’re not as strong as him, something that personally hurts Miwa, and Momo is angry at him for even after his death. He is the closest to Miwa because he responds to her attempts to reach out to him, but also the one who hurts her the most. Mai has a bad attitude and does not seem to get along with anyone, but at the same time she hangs out with Miwa and Miwa like they are a tight close knit group of friends she just can’t be honest about her feelings for them and how much she appreciates the friendship. She also thinks all the boys are stinky.
To bring that to Aoi and Mai they don’t really have to be friends to have a relationship to each other, because they are a part of the same messy complicated friend group. As characters though, they provide an interesting contrast. Mai is a follower, she is weak, she gets swept up in things and tends to just go along with them and keep her head down to try to live in peace instead of struggling like Maki. She also has an incredibly low self image of herself and basically assigns herself the role of weaker twin and sees herself as inferior. She’s also someone who would be perfectly content being treated like a servant and doing chores because if it meant she wouldn’t have to be a sorcerer.
Aoi finds a normal life boring and went out of his way to become a sorcerer after he was recruited by Yuki, he also tends to hate people who are like Mai too codependent, and too negative. He isntantly decided that Megumi was boring because he had no good taste for life. He gets angry when people expect him to do things as a part of the group, he’s also the only other character that Kokichi respected and believed was strong enough to survive in the Shibuya arc. He’s the only Kyoto student that Gojo mentions as having potential to be one of the strongest next generation.
You can see why there’d be a lot of tension between them, they represent opposites, Mai hates stubborn people like her sister and Aoi, Aoi hates weak willed people and go with the flow people like Mai. At the same time though, Todo is still mr. “power of friendship” guy whereas Mai is someone who values her connection to Maki more than anything else in the world. They’re both characters who want to connect to other people. They are both support type characters, Todo fights the strongest when he’s working with someone else. Todo’s also really good at mentoring and fostering growth with other people. So they are characters who don’t like each other, but they still fit into the group dynamic of the Kyoto Kids as a whole and they are both very relationship oriented people.
Also, they’re just hilarious when you put them together. Aoi annoys the crap out of Mai, and for his part Aoi either doesn’t notice, or doesn’t care about Mai’s dislike of him. If anything my favorite version of their relationship is Aoi is so self confident he’s completely oblivious to the fact that Mai doesn’t like him and is just putting up with him when they’re hanging out alone together, and thinks they’re best friends.
okay i figured out why i love mai-todo friendship dynamic. he’s good for her confidence “you can beat people up if they have bad taste” and he introduced her to lesbianism (takada-chan)
Can't wait for Kyoto gang to appear and work together as a team😬
Kyoto school getting the sex Ed talk is probably a worse chaotic disaster compared to the Tokyo school. (All thanks to Noritoshi being caught sneaking his s/o in his room)
Oh god you're so right.
Like- Let's take a moment-
Todo with his God damn body pillow pissed he even has to be there??? Of course he uses protection?? He doesn't want to ruin his limited edition Idol pillow?? (Queue everyone fucking shuddering in their skin at the thought)
Every god damn female on that campus is gay as shit and Momo, Mai and Miwa are looking at Utahime like "Why are we here?? We can't get pregnant??"
Utahime is trying to be the adult and not address the fact its Noritoshi's fault, who, ironically might be the most responsible to be having sex. (Let's be honest he thought for the longest time holding hands was third base so leave a man alone)
The principal is the one giving the sex ed course and everyone is CRINGING at this old mans recollection of his hay day and suddenly no one wants to have sex because the imagery of old people having sex ruins everyone's lives 🤣
