How long has it been? He wondered.

Silently, voluminous red curls flickered against the frigid wind, frosted with fresh fallen snow. Matching sanguine depths, shielded with thick lashes, cast a rather somber gaze toward the vast meadow of white in front of him.

Winter seemed nearly infinite; could he recall his last encounter with land that was untouched by snow?

Feet planted firmly on the edge of the Western grounds, eyes lingering on the horizon to the South, he exhaled; smooth, heated clouds of breath billowed from his nostrils.

As of late, he had not been particularly active in social regards to his associates. Frequently, he kept himself hidden, even from those who knew him well. Winter, he’d learned long ago, was a time of quiet -- a time of detachment -- a time of death. Though he was an ancient soul, who knew hardly the experience of mortality, he understood it. Thus, as mortality took its toll on those that harbored it, their associates, continuing with their lives, would learn to detach themselves.

This was a concept that he mastered may an age ago.

Despite the air’s relentless, frozen brutality, he did not shiver; he did not even flinch. He remained there, still, tall, poised, as his crimson tresses tickled his cheeks.

Inuvember 2015 Day 11 - AU Week Day 4

This story is dedicated to @crimsondemonfan and their harem of Sesshomaru RP partners. Crimson had the idea a while back of what it would be like to have Sesshomaru not be able to sing and Kyoura would give lessons, and Crimson allowed me to to take the idea and put it into words.
