Shinji simply sneezed and when he looks up, a disgruntled Kyoutani holds out a handful of crumpled, but clean tissues.

“What?” Kyoutani asks. “Can’t have you gettin’ sick. You’re the good luck charm.”

“Huh?” Shinji takes the tissues, stuffing all but one into his pocket, and as gracefully as one can do, blows his nose in the other. 

“You’ve been sniffling all day,” Kyoutani says, as if it’s obvious. Shinji didn’t really notice, probably because he’s been too preoccupied with thinking about the practice match after school. Not to mention he has test in his least favorite subject, so he tried to cram in studying whenever he has breaks and free time.

“I didn’t realize, thanks.” He gives a small smile, not noticing how Kyoutani coughs and turns his head to hide his blushing. “Am I really a good luck charm?”

“I meant for the team,” Kyoutani answers quickly. “Not like I meant- personally- or whatever. Just don’t get sick!” He stuffs his hands in his pockets and slouches off.

Shinji grins. “I won’t,” he promises Kyoutani, even though he can’t hear him.

Kyoutani Kentarou x Watari Shinji 

They weren’t friends for long. No one was even sure as to why they were friends or how it even happened. It was something their team surely was interested in. 

  “Yoohoo Maddog-chan!” 

Kyoutani quickly turned around to avoid contact with the team captain. Watari watched in amusement while Kyoutani dodged conversation with nearly everyone on the court. It was entertaining enough for Watari and Yahaba. 

  “Honestly Shinji what do you see in him?” Yahaba asked leaning against the other. 

Watari shrugged, he liked what he liked and that was all he needed. He owed no explanation to the why. It wasn’t really anyone’s business. He watched again as Kyoutani smiled softly at the ground when Watari looked at him. 

Ah there it was. 

Later that night, the pair were at Watari’s home working on some homework when Kyoutani went to the bathroom. Kyoutani nearly lost his cool. He stormed back into Watari’s room. 

  “WTF…you’re raising tadpoles in the bathroom sink???” Kyoutani started, he saw the other raise his hand. 

  “Would you wanna maybe…” 

  “And no to answer your question, no, I don’t want to partial custody.” 

Watari looked slightly dejected, Kyoutani sighed. He did like the other but he didn’t want to raise tadpoles they were just going to die eventually. And he really didn’t want to have to see how that bodes. But Kyoutani had another thing in mind. 

  “Let’s go on a date first and then we’ll see about me fathering tadpoles with you.” the other mumbled blushing ridiculously. 

Watari snorted. He could never get used to seeing the other in such a way. The shorter male stood up and walked to the other. Kyoutani was scratching the back of his neck avoiding most conversation. Watari grabbed his hand and held it. 

  “But of course you are such a gentleman, dear Kyoutani would you do me the great honor of going on a date with me before we father these or any tadpoles.” Watari snickered. 

  “Sure.” 

The other’s ears were red. Watari smiled broadly and Kyoutani blushed. He falt satisfied with these results.
