Kali’s relationship with her family was still rather strained, none of them had supported her decision to keep her child. She understood why, she was only a senior in high school when she had given birth to the beautiful little girl. Most suggested she give the baby up, and while she had considered it, the second the tiny little girl had been placed in her arms everything changed. Every cheesy and cliche thing people said about having a child was so true, and from that first moment she knew that Amelia had become her entire world. Eventually Kyra and their mother had come around, coming to see the girls in the hospital, though Kali had been completely alone when she had actually given birth. That had broken her heart, but now she had someone who wouldn’t walk away from her, her daughter. It had been over six years since Kali had Amelia, and through the years she had continued to let Kyra and their mom spend time with her. Just because Kali was still hurt and upset by them didn’t mean she would punish her daughter by keeping her from the only family she had. “Come on Ame, Aunt Kyra is waiting for us at the park..” her voice trailed through the house that the two of them lived in. It was a rare day off for Kali and while she didn’t exactly want to spend the sister she didn’t get along with very well, Amelia had been asking about her so she decided a day at the park would satisfy the little girl. The little girl came running towards the door, a smile on her face, jumping on Kali’s back. Amelia looked almost identical to Kali, which is why most called the little girl Mini Kali, in which the little girl would pout and say, “my name is Amelia! Amelia Joy Ganesh.” Clearly she got her sass from her mother as well. The walk to the park didn’t take to long, seeing as Kali’s home was only about ten minutes from it. Kali still had the little girl o her back as she walked, but the second they got to the park the six and half year old wiggled out of her mothers arms, seeing her aunt sitting on a bench. “Aunt Kyra!” Amelia squealed, running as fast as she could to jump in the arms of her aunt. Kali couldn’t help but smile at the scene, it made her miss being that close with her sister. Walking towards the two, Kali gave Kyra a small smile, “so, how are mom and dad?” she asked, trying to stay as civil as possible.
