looking back on most of my conversation with Carly, it's kind of entertaining how much of the text is in all caps. Like at least half of it is us screaming at each other.

YET AGAIN I'm getting angry at dad for not taking the Buried Life seriously.
I just don't get why he can't respect something that I feel so strongly about. Mom and I were explaining how Carly and I are working on meeting, and I had to explain to him that, yes, we met online and haven't met in person, and he said "so this girl, that you've never met, is going to fly halfway across the country just because you're both crushing on the same four dudes?" and I just wanted to SCREAM at him. I don't know why this gets me so worked up. He drives me crazy.
But on the bright side, Carly and I are, as I type this, discussing the best time to get her happy butt to Memphis! I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS.
I'm so happy the haters didn't make you guys shut the blog down. Welcome back, and I wish all of you the best this year! ♥
thanks so much! we're glad to be back and better than ever!all of us at cyk wish you, along with the rest of our followers, the best this coming year, too^^

Well, it's officially 2013 and if its anything like the last couple of months of 2012, its going to be an amazing year. The past few months have seriously rocked my world. I feel like I've made some awesome friends, both here and in person, and I've gotten closer to some old friends. Some amazing things have happened this year:
I turned 21
I went to APVMA Symposium
I'm halfway through my last year of school
I applied to vet school
I got tons of experience working at a vet clinic
I learned to play guitar
I finished a half marathon
I got to see the Blackhawks win in person
I got my sixth little in Phi Lamb
I played my first real show
My roommate got engaged
I auditioned for America's Got Talent
Most exciting, I met Ben and Duncan from the Buried Life
and a SUPER close second to that, I met a girl who may has quickly become one of my best friends.
Carly, I can't believe how quickly we've gotten so close. I'll never be able to thank the Buried Life boys enough for bringing us together. The flood of encouragement and support you've given me in the past month and a half brings me to tears. I can only hope we become even closer, and I can't wait until we can finally meet in person.
I'm usually not one to be all gung-ho about the new year, but I've really started to look at life differently. I honestly want to live life to the fullest this year. Crazy things could happen in the next 12 months. Carly and I could meet in person. I could get into vet school. I could get called back to America's Got Talent. I could finally meet someone. I don't know. But the thing is, if I don't go after things, then I won't just not know. It won't happen. I've really realized that if I want something, I've got to work for it. I can't just wait for things to fall into my lap. I've also realized that its ok to take chances. In fact, I should take more chances. I've got to start grabbing life by the horns and not worry about failure. I've always struggled with accepting failure, but I think I'm slowly getting over it. It's gotten to where I'd much rather be rejected than wonder what if.
Normally I'd say "I hope 2013 is a good year" but I've got to do more than hope. If I want 2013 to be an awesome year, I've got to MAKE it an awesome year. And I'm going to try like hell to do so.
2013 is going to be a wild ride.l
Oh my goodness, the Buried Life boys replied to my email. Not the first super long one I sent, but the one I sent last night telling them about my show. I told them about my show, the half marathon this weekend, the AGT audition, and how Carly and I have become friends. I honestly can't believe they replied that fast, since I just sent it last night. I'm seriously crying right now.
Here's what they sent back:
Hey Mikki! Wow! Thanks so much for the update! Glad to hear things are going well on your end. Congratulations on performing in front of an audience and getting pumped about running a half-marathon. You're a champion. We're also so glad to hear how close you and Carly have become. That's so crazy and so awesome. We know we say this all the time, but we really do love our fans. You all keep us going. Good luck auditioning for America's Got Talent---YEAHHH! Stay excellent. the boys
I'd seen someone else get a reply from them, and frankly it sounded like some kind of automated stock response, because it seemed really generic, but know I know that they actually read my email and took the time to respond to me. I can tell that they really are excited for me, and that means the world.
Good thing I'm not in class for the rest of the day. I'd hate to be a blubbering fool in the middle of a lecture hall.
Currently scheming with mom on how to potentially get me and Carly in the same city sometime in the future. It's gonna happen, homegirl.
