Unless they make a candy/gashapon Leo Minor Kyutama (and if I decide if I want the Argo Kyutama just to have a copper one) my Kyutama painting days are done. The gold on Orion is a bit darker than the show but otherwise I’m happy with how they all came out.

Kyuranger themed Christmas Cake with exclusive Christmas Kyutama. 

For those complaining that X-mas isn’t even here yet, from a retail workers perspective, it takes a lot of time to set up for one of the biggest shopping events of the year (mostly getting the merch and setting up the displays). In P-Bandai’s case, these cakes are gonna be pre-ordered early in large quantities so they need to roll out ads before the holidays and prep their inventory. 

Is it annyoing that Christmas is slowly devouring the year? Yes, it is, but you can blame early bird shoppers demanding it and insane aggressive marketing for that, don’t take it out on the stores.

Kyuranger/Voltron Legendary Defender Crossover AU Ideas

- The legend of the Kyurangers predates the existence of paladins and Voltron. The idea of multi-coloured warriors inspire the use of multiple colours for the lions/paladins (in-universe they were originally all going to be black, as a reference to the stealth Voltron of The Third Dimension).

- For the sake of simplicity, Planetium and Quintessence are one and the same. Kyutamas store and gather Quintessence for use as a Skill or Change Kyutama. Due to their nature, they can be infected with Dark Quintessence to form Dark Kyuranger (i.e. Hebitsukai Metal)

- Some planets and their accompanying systems in the Voltron: Legendary Defender canon will be redistributed into new systems to represent they're potential Kyurangers. Altea is part of the Houoh system, Daibazaal in the Ooguma system, etc.

- New to the setting will be the planet Ohraion in the Shishi system. This will be the home planet of Lucky (Shishi Red) and its native residents, the Ohraians. - The Chameleon system is home to both Hammie's homeworld and the Dalterion Belt.

- Shou Ronpo (Ryu Violet/Commander) is part of a long lived species from the Ryu system. Unusual for his species, Ryu was very engaged with the galaxy at large, being friends with the Altean royal family before the discover of the comet that would be used to forge the Voltron lions.

- Shou developed the Biting Transformation Gun Ryutseuder in the early years of Zarkon's conquest in order to give the universe hope. However, after a confrontation with Zarkon and the time limit on his transformation lead to huge damage to the rebellion's forces, Shou decided to wait for the Kyurangers to form naturally.

- Changing the Ryu Kyutama from a Skill type to a Change type is different from the show. Realising that Shou has been fighting for so long yet somehow isn't a Kyuranger compared to their one act that seemed to connect them their Kyutamas makes the Kyuranger realise that the prophocey isn't as important as doing good. Both their wish to see Shou as a Kyuranger and Shou's shared desire causes the quintessence of the change kyutama to change the Ryu Kyutama into a Change type to form Ryu Commander.

- Koguma SkyBlue in this AU is a Galra-born child. Born in the Koguma system (neighbouring the Ooguma system) after its subjugation became a second home for the Galra species. This is to show Allura that there is a future where the Galra aren't a threat to the universe's peace and help her move past that anger.

- Houoh Soldier is an ancient Altean from long before the time of Voltron. Acted as part of the first 88 member Kyuranger team until he was the only member left after a battle for the universe. Placed in stasis to heal, he awakens after Koguma SkyBlue is found like in the show. Wears a pink version of their regular outfit to honour the fallen Alteans and produces pink and red energy during attacks.

- Initially only Lucky performs a roll call. After developing his relationship with the other Kyurangers they will perform their roll call part with him. However there are exceptions who immediately perform the roll call (Raptor, Balance, Naga (by copying Balance before developing his roll call) and Koguma SkyBlue)

You know how some of the Kyutama seem useless? Like the Pisces or Crater Kyutama?

Well, think about it like this:

The Kyutama were designed to bring peace throughout the universe, and frankly, weapons are not peaceful. I feel like the powers are symbolic if nothing else. Pisces brings fish to those who are starving, as well as represents peace, health, and happiness. Crater brings a cup, which in my eyes is representative of sustenance (based off legends that I’ve read of cups and bowls that refill themselves to feed needy countries). Lyra brings music, which in turn brings people together and raises spirits.

The Kyutama were not designed to just be weapons to fight evil.

They were designed to protect and bring the universe together.
