ohhh my god?? this is my first time hearing about it. excited to see more nadeko. and i'll be there to pick up any tiny little crumbs about the ghostbusters.

i feel like... people who have gotten far enough into monogatari to get to koimonogatari are so rare. people do not love kaiki like they should cuz his arc is further into the series. anyways, for years, i've loved your art - that someone loves his character like i do, the empathetic, self sacrificing, but also sort of... strange man that is kaiki deishuu. thanks for being you.

Oh yeah i think abt this a lot too. Kaiki is very well-crafted, i can think of a lot of people who would really like him. I guess monogatari as a whole is just that much of a boundary separating his ideal niche from him. Aside from monogatari being Like That, it’s just daunting to get through.

You can’t even show koi as a one-off because you gotta pause and explain who nadeko is, who hanekawa is, who senjougahara is, who shinobu is, why theyre Like That, why that particular line is so Important to their character. So much nuance gets lost 😞

But anyway! thanks for sticking around! It’s nice knowing a few people out there rly love him as the weird uncle he is! I’m glad you’re here

Incredibly good read! The story imitates Kaiki so well I’m willing to consider this story canon. I cried a whole lot. The author did their best to research kanji meanings, mythical lore, and a whole bunch of other stuff that I don’t wanna spoil. The original characters feel like they belong in monogatari’s abnormal cast. What little we know of kaiki’s outside relationships is used to its fullest. kaiki’s ex-girlfriend is great.
