SST 070. Cassette released in 1986, CD in 1991. I should have started this whole A-Z thing with this but I forgot about it so here is as good a place as any to drop it in. This is a compilation comprising of Black Flag's Nervous Breakdown, Six Pack and TV Party singles as well as the singles Paranoid Time by Minutemen, In A Car by Meat Puppets, Eight Miles High and Makes No Sense At All by Husker Du plus the Wurm and Overkill singles. All killer no filler as a lazy journo would say.
1981
Overkill released two records on SST. The single (SST 008) was released in 1982 and is some solid LA hardcore. The album (SST 038), began recording that same year but was not completed and released until 1985. The album, whilst still having a few fast LA hardcore type jams saw the band lean more towards metal thus creating one of the first crossover records of the era. Oh, and this isn't the band that did Hello From The Gutter, that's a different Overkill.
